Rennek Elsin is a Male Miralukan, born in the old republic, with high force sensitivity. He is blind by birth, as is most of his race. They are largely incompatible with humans when it comes to breeding, despite their close look-alikes.
Miralukans see through the force, instead of their eyes, Rennek is no exception. He left his home planet with his to go to the nearest Jedi Academy, but on a hunch, ditched the Jedi tests, and flew back to his planet only to see most of his race and with leading members of the Jedi council eaten through the force by Darth Nihilus.
It was then he picked up a vessel he calls the Star Drifter, a Defender-class light corvette (can be manned by one person). This vessel is supposed to be Jedi exclusive, but he took it for himself as the Jedi pilot was dead. It was then he traveled the Galaxy after the Jedi Civil War between the Jedi and Sith for years, mostly by himself. With a high force sensitivity he was able to stay relatively safe, find someone who was willing to try and help him out, and still train himself.
His "partner" was actually a female smuggler who originally wanted to use him for his ship and his senses, but in taking a more kindly approach to looking after him they became friends, looking after each other for quite a few years until she was killed by Sith pursuers on a job when he was 14.
He is currently a lone pilot and takes merc and smuggling jobs for money, eventually managing to put together a lightsaber for himself after many years of hard searching and research.
He is relatively kind, trying to console others during periods of loss, constantly feeling like no one understands the level of pain he went through. He's always likes to be polite, plays various instruments, loves making carvings with his lightsaber, and is as close to a self-trained Jedi as can be.
It was a few years later, when he was 19 that he had an accident with his ship, and wound up in another world or galaxy...he wasn't really sure which, but that can be for you to decide...

This is the Star Drifter, Rennek's vessel.
The corvette class had a smooth hull, and was propelled by two circular twin thrusters. The cockpit rested in a hammerhead-style outcropping, similar to those of Republic Thranta-class warships, although oriented horizontally instead of vertically. The interior of the vessel boasted a state-of-the-art holocommunications terminal and lush furnishings, as well as backlit controls in the cockpit, allowing for dimmer lighting.
