"You know, vodka's Russian for water, right?"

Meet Rin Asougi and her assistant Mimi, the founders and constant members of the Asogi Consulting Firm, a private investigation firm originally stationed in West Shinjuku. Well, at least, that's how their life in that part of Japan started, anyway. They've had ups and downs since then, but somehow or another they ended up dragged through the Nexus, and have had to restart their lives here. Not the first time they've had to pick up the pieces and start anew, admittedly, but that'll happen when you're immortal.

Oh, we didn't mention that little detail yet.

See, both Rin and Mimi have been blessed with the gift of immortality and eternal youth, for at least a few hundred years each. For Rin, it's more along the lines of at least a thousand. They became this way due to receiving a thing called 'Time Fruit' from the legendary Tree of Life, Yggdrasil, which has now become a part of their very being. As a result, the pair do not change, for better or worse, from the state from which they originally received the fruit, always regenerating to that point so long as the fruit is not destroyed (which, admittedly, cannot be done by conventional means, or apparently by Immortals or their counterparts, Angels. But more on those later).

So, yeah. Rin and Mimi are pretty much unkillable. Shoot 'em, pour acid on 'em, throw 'em through a jet turbine... Yeah, very little seems to be capable of putting 'em out for long. But they do have one weakness, a type of creature known as an Angel, formed when male humans ingest Time Fruits. But it's best if we don't iterate too much on them; they're morbid creatures to say the least.

So, more on the two in question! Rin is the green-haired, emerald eyed bombshell with the glasses, and she's quite aware of her wiles. She tends to be flirtatious and carefree, often putting off work for as long as she can and trying to take things easy, while pouring work on poor Mimi in the process. She does deeply care for her counterpart, and often joins her in her rather regular drinking. Though that caring nature seems to be something she holds for most people that she warms up to.

Mimi's the little alcoholic with her arms around the aforementioned gumshoe. She's also the brains, at least technologically speaking. Out of the two, she's the one that tends to drink far more, though she miraculously tends to avoid hangovers (perhaps due to her regeneration factor). She also seems to be quite youthful, perhaps due to receiving her Time Fruit when she was young and being locked at that age, and often this is her bane when she goes out to bars as she'll end up stuck sipping ginger ale. She's far more repressed than Rin sexually, though she may be intimate with her given their long period of time together.
