Down underneath the soil of Gensokyo lies the Hell of Blazing Fires, a former part of Hell that was annexed when the oni built their secret underground city. Formerly a place where criminals were banished, they built a palace over it to seal the entrance and keep the evil spirits inside from seeping out and causing havoc. Toiling in the loneliness of the former Hell is Orin, pushing her wheelbarrow and keeping the spirits trapped down there in check and giving them company. Tasked by the mistress of the Palace, Satori Komeiji, to take care of the spirits trapped down in Blazing Hell, she does her job with great vigor. Her easy going nature makes it easy to talk with the spirits, but even she can be prone to bouts of kitty laziness. Because the fires of Hell have been ignited again thanks to the mischief of her friend Utsuho Reiuji, she's as busy as ever. Being a kasha it's her duty to cart the bodies of the departed down to hell to keep the flames burning at the right temperature, and show bad souls the way to their resting place. Though she may find it hard to resist snacking on a soul or two on the job...
