History:

Rithia is an ancient evil well known to the people of Merria, and a rather tenacious one at that. No matter how many centuries passed, no matter how many brave heroes did battle with her, and no matter how many times she was sealed away, Rithia always returned to spread her vile magic across the kingdom. Why, is anyone's guess. Conquest and subjugation seem little more than instinctive need for her, like hunger or thirst.

In the Kingdom's many battles with Rithia, its people grew complacent. If she'd been defeated every time before, then surely good would always triumph? Surely it was the passage of fate that each time Rithia rose from her tomb, she be returned to it? And then the unthinkable happened... Merria's warrior-queen was bested in combat by her nation's ancient foe. The queen was consumed, her power added to Rithia's and from there, it was only a short time until the dark sorceress took the throne for herself...

In the decades since, Rithia has ruled with an iron fist. Commoners (or as Rithia adores calling them, peasants) are expected to pay monthly taxes and obey curfew laws or else. Meanwhile, law enforcement is well known to be rotten to the core, providing little in the way of consideration to those they are ostensibly meant to protect. For the most part, Rithia seems content to stick to oppressing her own country, though she's been greedily eyeing her neighbors' borders as of late...

Personality:

Even after decades of her tyrannical rule, Rithia's exact nature largely remains a mystery. Though she looks human enough at a glance, it's clear Rithia is something else entirely. She is seemingly incapable of experiencing emotions the same way others do-- the concepts of love, joy, hate, and fear are largely alien to her and her iron-fisted rule seems to bring little more than quiet contentment to the gloomy and morose tyrant.

Though, from time to time... Rithia notes a strange feeling inside her when toying with her victims...
