Well. When you've been alive more than two hundred years, you have plenty of time to think about this. Robin knows she's had plenty of time. Long enough to set up more than a few things, for herself an others. Amazing, is it not, how far interest can grow, given enough time...
In any case... meet Robin Lightroad. A simple businesswoman, or so she would claim, though she'd also claim her name is Robin Markus. She's the owner of a small but exceedingly lucrative firm, one that's done quite well for itself in the two hundred years that it's been running. She's The Boss, not that it matters very much. The company runs itself, by now.
In any case... she is, yes, Immortal. Not impervious, but definitely unkillable, at least by the likes of you. A member of a society of alchemists, who found the secret to eternal life, she survived the disaster that befell many of the others, when one of their own betrayed the rest. She left when the group disbanded, as well..... left to live, and seek her fortune. for the longest time, she lived in Europe, but at the beginning of the 1900's she set out, crossing the Atlantic Ocean, coming to America.... establishing a secondary branch of her company in New York. She's been there ever since, save for when she travels. It's all worked out nicely, see....
In any case... she's not the only Immortal out there. Should she meet one of them, she would be in danger. Only an Immortal can kill another Immortal... by devouring all that they are, their bodies, their memories... their very being, possibly even their soul. It is the ONLY way an immortal can be killed, with any surety. And only an Immortal can be consumed in this way, and THAT only by another Immortal. Needless to say, in the end there will be one left....
Regardless. Robin has nothing to fear.. she's not met any of the others in at LEAST fifty years. No one knows who she really is, so that doesn't matter very much either. She can take care of herself.... and she can devour more than just other immortals. Amazing, isn't it, what a little knowledge lets you do.... and, in addition to this, she can grant any knowledge she herself has to any other Immortal.
