Standing at an "impressive" 3 feet and 9 inches, with a "lengthy" 4 foot tail, Serena is perhaps among the least threatening-looking Lamia's ever born. A true micro at least has the benefit of being the right size to make potential predators fear it might be highly venomous. Normal size lamias, even if they are no larger than a human, tend to be obviously capable of eating humans. To say nothing of larger breeds of lamia. Serena, however, isn't even big enough to fully encoil a human, and there doesn't seem to be any part of her capable of even fitting a full grown human.
This is, of course, a major misconception. At a young age, Serena saw many of her peers get snatched up by other preds before they were old enough to protect themselves, or were forced to sell themselves into slavery in exchange for protection. Serena, a child of a highly respected family, one who happened to believe they should only bother putting resources into children that proved themselves, had access to a fairly large library, though the truly powerful knowledge was reserved for those who proved themselves. Serena, ever a crafty one, gathered enough knowledge to modify some minor spells into something unique. Simply put, she "cursed" herself so that she would be incapable of growing larger.
The modifications she made to this curse were equally simple. The energy she'd normally use for growing bigger would instead be used to strengthen her body as it already was. Soon enough, while she wasn't getting bigger than her peers, she was getting much, much stronger. Her parents assumed she was a runt, and evicted her. Years later, she would have some subtle revenge, as many of her brothers and sisters had decided that it was better to spend a few years as her apprentices than even bother trying to impress their parents.
Now, she is one of the most powerful predators alive. With not a single drop of her energy going towards length or height, she rapidly outpaced older, more experienced predators in raw power.
While lacking her parent's ruthless survival of the fittest mentality, she retains many of the habits they taught her. She was the daughter of powerful predators, and expected to act like it. As such, she may not be inclined to digesting or otherwise harming people, but she reacts poorly to being called cute, or being treated as if she's harmless. It's not uncommon to see her pouting in the middle of a empty street, a tail bulging with dozens of people, simply because one of them patted her on the head like some stray cat. She lets them go eventually, but quite a few living near her home have learned to duck and hide at the sight of a pouting lip.
Despite her poor temper, she's quite liked by her neighbors. Less kind predators give her hometown a wide berth, the lamia refusing to tolerate other predators hunting in her territory. They might not believe the tiny, adorable lamia is dangerous, but someone keeps making predators disappear when they intrude. Beyond her protection, she's a rather loving lamia when you remember to show respect for her strength. There are worse ways to wake up in the morning than coiled up and buried in a massive set of knockers. Plus, it's well known that she only digests predators that make the mistake of hunting in her town. And if someone wants to enjoy being trapped in a stomach, it's very easy and perfectly safe to get in hers. Just call her adorable.
