Shampoo is a devious girl and a skilled martial artist from the Joketsuzoku, native in the Amazon village Nyucheizu located in China. The women there train and fight equal or often even superior to the men, and take great pride in it. The village is close to the legendary training ground of Jusenkyo, the 'cursed springs'. Shampoo is one of the elite fighters of her village, has a great variety of techniques and is an experienced and skilled martial artist.

Since she tries to protect her village and their laws, she gave the female version of Ranma the 'kiss of death' when she was bested, and she gave the male form a kiss on the lips, vowing to marry the man who had beaten her - she followed Ranma due to that purpose, and started to work as waitress and delivery girl for a chinese fast food restaurant. Shampoo is a quite beautiful girl, with waving, long blue hair and a cute and pretty face, the color of her eyes matching her hair.

Although she is just in her late teenage years, Shampoo has quite developed, alluring curves for her age. The girl has a c cup bust, a relatively slim waist, round hips, meaty thighs and a jiggly, ample behind attracting quite some gazes. She usually wears some form of chinese clothing, usually a matching blouse and pants, over which she may wear an apron while working. Her combat outfit consists of a light colored long-sleeved blouse and pants with the addition of a dark breastplate and a pair of metal arm-guards.

For formal occasions she favors sleeveless cheongsam (also known as Mandarin gown). Quite often (usually in private or on casual occasions), Shampoo actually wears tight, frisky clothes showing off her body and curves, since the chinese girl has a strong lewd side. Due to falling into the cursed 'spring of the drowned cat', when hit with cold water Shampoo used to turn into a sweet, pink feral cat that keept her intelligence. Shampoo was annoyed by this, and took an ancient chinese medicine meant for stopping her transformation into a cat-form. It didn't quite work as intended, but at least she does not become a feral cat anymore - instead, the gal turns into a demi-human neko with pink cat ears and a pink cat tail, transforming back when she comes into contact with hot water.

Shampoo is devious and strategic as well as not being above scheming, play-acting or completely ruthless behavior to advance her position towards the object of her attention. However, Shampoo does seem to enjoy having fun from the trouble she causes. Given Shampoo's violent and protective behaviour, if anyone opposes her goals, she will not hesitate to fight or even kill that person (not always, but as last resort, she definately will do it). She is not really cruel and sadistic, but Shampoo is determined and fails to feel empathy towards her victims and 'toys'. With her knowledge of pressure points and moxibustion, Shampoo is also open to the idea of manipulating other's will to her advantage.

The asian is extremly sexually uninhibited and very sensual, possibly due to her upbringing in a society including extensive warrior training for both males and females. Nudity is not a problem for her, as she rather enjoys being naked as well as having some naughty fun with someone she finds attractive. Shampoo can be very naughty and sometimes even makes out with someone she likes in public, finding it silly to make such a fuss about a casual, enjoyable act.

Furthermore, Shampoo has vorish abilities which she finds rather enjoyable and sees them as a sure way to dispose of foes, fatally digesting them after devouring them. She often gets hungry, and since she lacks responsibility and guilt, the chinese girl finds it alright to just overpower and devour whoever is available to sate her cravings, following the idea that "weaklings deserve to fall prey".

In Nexus, since Ranma is gone after he trapped himself in his female body and then even got digested by some chick, Shampoo is now just living for the day, enjoying life and training to become stronger, wanting to be the best martial artist of all times.
