Shiera

Shiera is a daughter of a woman who was already native to the park. She was a talented mage in her own rights, but as with everyone else, still had a natural predator. Conveniently, the night that Shiera's life dramatically changed, the natural predator stalking her mother came out from hiding, and being a spell caster, initiated a deadly back and forth battle.

In the wake of destruction caused by such an incident, unfortunate magical side effects piled up upon the helpless Shiera, who was a girl at the time, unable to protect herself with magical barriers. The resulting side effects all combined with each other, the same way taking the wrong combination of pills could result in a deadly over-dose, but instead of killing her, it made her body gain the unique ability to rapidly regenerate under all circumstances. It was a blessing and a curse. The blessing being rather obvious.

However, her mom lost the fight, and was consequently eaten as a result. Slowly. She had to watch in terror, and try to escape, only to fail, getting caught, and swallowed herself. Her body was already undergoing its change at this time, and as she watched her mother digest slowly in the same belly she was trapped in, she was digested only to have her cells and tissue regenerate constantly. She was eventually pushed out, and survived the traumatic experience. This was part of the curse.

The pain that was inflicted in her life was reflected on her mood as well. Shiera tried to forget this incident as her life went on, but any sort of particle in her body was regenerated back to healthy levels, preventing her from committing suicide via drowning or jumping. She just eventually came back to a healthy state of being, instead of being too focused on loosing her mother than trying to get on with her life. This created a sense of attachment, one that causes her to really hold on to all the little things far more than a normal person in trying to fill the emotional gap left by her mother.

She went through her teenage years with another family who took her in, but she was still silent and reserved, thinking about herself and her past most of the time. She wrote and became attached to it, bought trinkets, and held onto them more dearly than other people out of fear of loss. In a sense, it helped prevent her from loosing items like cellphones and pencils and such.

She has accepted her past now though, and doesn't tell too many people about it. She considers a few people nice acquaintances, but doesn't consider herself to have any actual friends. She feels a bit lonely, but appears cheerful enough not to be emo. She feels embarrassed that she never had the strength to try and move on either, and just accepts life as it happens, creating a lax personality as well.
