Smug, haughty, and condescending, Sonyo was a flesh-and-blood refutation of the myth of the magnanimous adventurer. Her smarmy "popular girl" aura proved at once infuriating and inescapable; her presence had a way of dragging even the most mature adventurers down to her level, and she could reduce even a chummy Guild hall to a mess of catty cliques and interparty conflict in a matter of weeks — naturally, with her left reigning atop the ruins.

Despite her toxic attitude, her looks alone proved more than enough to attract a sizeable following of orbiters, many of whom died in vain bids to earn her favor. Their deaths were little more than a source of amusement for Sonyo, who made quite clear that she saw those not able to keep up as no better than monster bait. Mocking the fallen was a favorite pastime at her table, though none of her desperate followers ever seemed to realize that they would themselves eventually become the butt of her jokes.

Some claimed there was another side to Sonyo, one that emerged only in private among the trusted few friends of her inner circle. Certainly one who watched her long enough might catch a hint of softness — or at least mutual respect — between her and those few adventurers she deemed worthy of her attention. But few were willing to brave her thorns to find out.
