Sotiria_Apostolou

Sotiria is at Permavore_Risk, but good luck with that because you're going to need it!

There are some people that it's just not smart to fuck with. It doesn't matter how strong or tough or fast you are, there are just some people that it simply is not smart to fuck with. Sotiria Apostolou is one of those people and if you fuck with her, you are going to have a bad day.

There is darkness in this world. It hides at the fringes of civilization, striking at the weak, the helpless, and the unwary. Creatures of legend, the supernatural, the alien, and the inhuman. Things that neither science nor theology can explain. And they hunger for flesh. The best that most humans can do is to keep their heads down, go about their normal lives, and pray that they escape the notice of such things by not believing in them. But just as not believing in the sun wouldn't prevent it from rising, not believing in the darkness does not stop it's spread. Humans fear the encroaching darkness and live their lives of mediocrity to try to lose themselves in the masses and be unnoticed.

Sotiria Apostolou meets the darkness head on with her fists.

Still only a teenager, Sotiria stalks the things that stalk in the night. She is a ruthless, relentless hunter that seemingly has no fear of her own death and the utmost confidence in her capabilities. She is, for all intents and purposes, a normal human being so she shouldn't be able to beat a naga to death with her bare hands... and yet she's done this several times. How and why Sotiria is able to fight outside of her 'weight class' is unknown... but she can and frequently does, winning battles that no human should be able to win. She is strong, tough, quick, and perhaps worst of all, clever.

If Sotiria can be said to have an ace in the hole, it is her gloves, which she terms as 'Polarity Gauntlets'. Each is capable of affecting local gravity in a specific way; one can pull objects towards itself, the other can push them away. They take a few moments to charge up, increasing in power with each second spent charging. Sotiria has become extremely adept at their use and her natural cleverness shines as she employs their powers creatively in combat, pushing herself away from objects too heavy to be affected to dodge, or pulling herself towards them for mobility. The gloves give her a limited form of awkward telekinesis, but Sotiria's able to leverage it for all of it's limited worth to push herself past human limits.

It would, however, be a mistake to assume that Sotiria is not dangerous without her Polarity Gauntlets. A very dangerous mistake, because the Gauntlets are made dangerous because Sotiria is wearing them rather then Sotiria being dangerous because she is wearing the Gauntlets. Several predators have made this mistake in the past; one even lived long enough to regret it.

Sotiria is recalcitrant when asked about where she got the Polarity Gauntlets, who made them, or about her own past in general. If truly pressed about why she hunts the darkened streets, doing things that will almost surely result in her own brutal, violent death sooner or later, she spouts off some vague philosophy as a way of getting people to go away. Sotiria seems to be a loner by nature, but it could just also be a reaction to the life she leads. If she doesn't have any friends, they don't have to cry over her when she's dead... and they won't get put in danger by a predator that's looking to find a weakness to exploit.

Generally coming off as cold and ruthlessly, Sotiria puts up a strong emotional front to keep others at arms length. Gruff, straightforward, and downright unlikable, Sotiria is dismissive to the point of rudeness with her fellow humans. She does not suffer fools lightly and comes across as a total bitch when needed. In the past she has proven that she's not above letting a bystander come to harm in order to bring a particularly dangerous predator to a swift end. It can often seem that Sotiria does not actually like humanity... but nothing could be further from the truth. Sotiria loves her fellow man deeply. Her assault upon the darkness that lurks on the fringes of the light is her deepest and most heartfelt way of expressing that... everything else is a battle scar.
