Star-Eaters

The princes of the void, the ancient devourer of stars and black hole leeches. They are to us a universe in themselves, too vast, too primordial, too antediluvian. They are the star-eaters that wander the universe, adrift in the cosmos, devouring the energy of the universe.

Young Star-Eaters spawn off larger ones, fragments of their being drifting and flaying like skin cells and forming their own identity. Their minds siphon off residual memories from their previous selves, that mingle with new experiences to form their own identity. At younger, smaller versions they feed off the passive magnetic energy of planets before even that cannot sate them. From then, they move to stars and swell themselves on the vast heat and gravitational fields before eventually moving onto black holes; leeching off the energy drawn into them in all forms.

Star-Eaters are the name for a series of beings that are closer to a collective consciousness of energy than a physical, flesh and blood being. They are a congealed sentience of energy that have fourth dimensional properties, feeding off the ambient energy of their surroundings.

In all forms seen, they are normally unseen to the human eye; to those that can pierce the veil of fourth dimensional space, this is where the bulk of their bodies lay. Vaguely humanoid in some forms, most retain a cloud-like form that resembles a nebulae, swirling with chaotic storms of purples, blues and iridescent yellows and oranges.

The Star Boy

"Some of my memories are... ah! I remember one thing. I remember the story of just a man, a regular human. He was sent away from home and he didn't want to do that, so all he did was try to find a way back home. All he wanted to do was to get back. And he couldn't die, so after years of being torn apart and losing parts of who he was, he never gave up. He kept going until he made it, he finally made it. After all that time and the pain and the loss. I- What I'm trying to say is, maybe I can be a man like that some day? That's the kind of human I want to look up to."

The Star-Eater this being grew from only shed off a little in its life cycle and thus, compared to such colossal beings this one was vastly smaller. Normally so large that humanity will always be too small to see, this one was no larger than a human, and was able to take notice of the beings living on the planets it would normally feed from. After watching and waiting, it grew some sort of liking to humanity and sentient species. Shunting its self into the third dimension, it eventually coalesced into a physical form that mimics a human body, with some large changes.

Modelling itself male, his skin looks like an ever-shifting depth of a nebulae. A hazy, dark purple smoke emanates from him, with glitter constantly flaking from his body. Whilst it has a mouth, if he closes it for a long enough time, it seals up and he has to split his plasm-like form to do so, leaking with black ooze until it heals or his lips seal again. Its voice is an inorganic echo, somewhat deep with British overtones. Where it would have eyes and eyebrows are two large slits, a deep glowing lilac that shows expressions as capable as any human. He doesn't so much as have nails or body hair as his body makes grooves in the skin to give off the illusion of them being there.

Star-Eaters drain ambient energy around them, causing no real damage to the environment. At a whim, they can focus and absorb more energy, or bring objects into their form to focus more on specific objects. They can either leave the object drained of energy or push it until it 'digests', breaking down from matter into energy in a vicious, purple slurry.

Being partially a fourth dimensional entity, even if his physical form is destroyed or damaged, part of it remains beyond the realm of mortals and can reconstitute itself with enough energy and time.

Ziggy Stardust

After discovering the wonders of David Bowie, the young Star eater called himself Ziggy as a homage to the deceased singer. Taking some tips from that area for style, he's acquired some normal clothes: a white shirt, a black leather jacket, blue jeans and polished black leather shoes.
