Name: Taylor Karsten
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 135 lbs
Hair: Red
Eyes: Green
Age: 29
Ship: 03-K64-Firefly Light Freighter
Wayfarer
Taylor has wanted to be a starship captain since she was in diapers. Her father would take her onto the bridge on long-haul freighter runs as a toddler (often over the strenuous objections of her mother), and from an early age she learned the intricacies of piloting, navigation, drive theory and above all, the need to keep one's wits about them in the depths of space.
Zephram Karsten, her father, fought in the War of Unification, on the side of the Independents. Finishing the war as a Lieutenant (a battlefield promotion that never had the chance to be confirmed before the war ended), Karsten escaped the Alliance teams that swept up most of the officers of the Independent Forces. Deeply embittered by the totalitarian rule of the Alliance, Zephram took his wife (then pregnant with Taylor, who was to be their only child) and sold all of their possessions to purchase a space vessel, intending to live out his life with his family among the stars. As it turned out, he got his wish.
When Taylor was 19, by now an able crewmember in her own right, their ship was attacked by pirates. While this was not the first time the Karstens had defended themselves, they soon found themselves outgunned, and eventually outrun. Boarded, Taylor's mother and father were killed in the ensuing gunfight. Taylor, though grief-stricken, managed to keep her head enough to pull off a daring plan. Venting the ship to space, she concealed herself in a pressurized cargo compartment as the pirates were sucked into the vacuum, then used a meditation technique taught to her by her mother to lower her heartrate enough that she was able to hold her breath through vacuum to the panel to reseal and repressurize the ship.
Taylor has now been master of the
Wayfarer for ten years. She's seen a lot of jobs, a lot of friends, and a lot of enemies all come and go. Though friendly by nature, her many adventures (and misadventures) cause her to be deeply cynical and distrusting. A ship can help you get a job. A gun can help you keep it. You got a job, she can do it. Don't much care what it is.
Taylor is handy with a sidearm, but not as proficient as her father. She has a wide variety of shipboard skills, and can perform any crew capability on her ship well. She has a particular knowledge of the subjects of navigation and shipboard gunnery; the former being an innate talent and the latter being a personal enjoyment and acquired skill.
OOC INFO: This character is not just intended for vore roleplay (though I certainly hope she sees her fair share of it!). I am also looking for extended roleplay, set either in Firefly's Verse or in another science-fiction setting. Don't be afraid to suggest basic grab-and-gulp scenes, either though! ^_~
If you're looking for just a quick one-off scene, then Taylor's backstory doesn't have to apply. She can be used in any setting, from modern to fantasy to sci-fi. Let me know.
A crossection of a Firefly-class freighter. The Wayfarer is different only in that she has three cannon turrets, two dorsal and one ventral. The first is located just forward of the mess hall, accessible by a ladder in the crew quarters corridor. The second is just forward of the engine room, and accessible by a ladder in the rear corridor. The ventral turret is located just aft of the floor-mounted airlock, and is accessible through a hatch in the floor. This turret retracts into the hull for landing purposes.
