Tenrai is, as you could probably guess, a Sphinx. Standing at an impressive 30 feet in height from paw to brow, she towers over most people, although what sustains her in truth is ... always up for debate. She hails from an ancient kingdom, one where monsters and heroes fought constantly, and also lived together in something akin to harmony. Basically if you weren't an asshole, you were left alone. To this end, Tenrai developed a simple set of rules for her interactions with people.


This is where the Sphinx's Riddle comes in. Designed magically by... iunno, some ancient asshole who decided it would be funny, Tenrai is bound by the rules of the Riddle. If one can answer her riddle, they remain safe in Tenrai's presence. Should she direct a riddle at you, however, and it is answered incorrectly or avoided altogether, then things get a bit more... awkward, in terms of company. Once the wrong or lack of answer is given, Tenrai is permitted by the rules of the riddle to devour the target of the magic, putting them deep within her body. What happens next? Well, at that point it is up to Tenrai to decide your fate.


Aside from the riddle, though, Tenrai has lived mostly a comfortable life in any dry hot place she could find herself. As the ages went on, Tenrai didn't age, and thus changed with the times. Rather than awaiting for meals to come, she decided to become more proactive in her lifestyle, finding fitness regimens and going out on long walks. Thus she found that society had begun to evolve as well, and technology was beginning to move forward as well. Curious, she considered these changes to be a riddle designed for herself, one that she was intent on finding the answer to, and now she joins the world. While she is not the most...social... of creatures, she can be easily gotten along with, and can be found mostly sunbathing, finding a place for her exercise routines, or routinely putting people through her Riddles to pass the time. She is slow to anger, but has a fury that can tear down buildings should you push her too far.
