Tepea

Oh goodness, a (Solan) harpy! Haven't seen many of those around!

... actually, it's because of that sort of mentality that Tepea here left home. She has such pretty feathers, she wants them to stand out! The less pretty birds around, the better. Not that she minds fellow harpies much, as long as they don't stand out like she does.

See, Tepea here is a harpy from the tropics. A blue-throated macaw, to be precise! That's why her feathers are such a vibrant, beautiful blue. But at home, everyone has that sort of blue (or green, or yellow, even a few dazzling reds). Up north, though, there aren't nearly as many birds with such brilliant plumage! So that's where she decided to head, settling herself in one of the northern states, within a few hours' flight of Canada.

... not the smartest idea in the book, really, considering she was born in and her whole species is adapted to the rainforest. She needs heat and moisture, like any other tropical animal! She's... in all honesty only a step or two up from being a fluffhead. It also means she's quite straightforward about things. It's kind of refreshing, really, even if she seems decidedly overly frank from time to time?

Still, here she is now, living in a top-floor apartment in one of the northern states. It's specially insulated, kept at a toasty 90 or above, humidifiers in every room, imported rainforest plants... she even has her own generator hookup so that the apartment won't get cold if there's a blackout. It's quite the paradise for the harpy, even if she tends to spend most of her time there huddled under a warm kotatsu...

Of course, paying for all that isn't a very easy task! Tepea's found a way to make it work though. See... she's quite strong, even for a harpy, and loves flying even in chilly air. And like all harpies, she's a very fast flier! So, as her outfit in the picture might suggest, she's taken up package delivery. Specifically, super-express carrying, a special option that interested consumers can pick and often end up having their parcel handed straight to them within a matter of hours! And who wouldn't want their package hand-delivered to them by a cute, brightly-colored harpy, especially in winter when she's wearing her quetzal-feather gown? (The neighboring quetzal-harpy tribe back home likes selling stuff made from feathers they lost during moulting.) It's expensive, of course (what express option isn't?) but that just means she gets to have a bigger share of the profits the postal service gets!

So that's Tepea in a nutshell. Kiki, but a million times prettier and a total featherhead! Just don't plan on seeing her -too- often outside of that kotatsu of hers~ She likes being warm, y'know!

Trivia tidbit: currently playing with the idea that her satchel acts as a bag of holding, it can contain numerous packages even if they are bigger than the mouth of the bag. She still feels the weight though. She might even be able to "deliver" a person that way...
