Meet the Ace, or Melanie Sharp as she's known among the BCA professional scene. The cause for more 8-ball breaks and run out racks than most other players combined.
Her rise to fame and fortune was swift but once she got to the top even the greatest players had trouble even having a chance to shoot, let alone winning a game. For some reason people just seem to miss while Mel (for short) is watching. The cue ball takes an odd bounce off a rail, the angle just slightly wrong to make them miss and... Wouldn't you know it? Leave Mel perfectly lined up to run the table! Then Mel comes to the table and it's like a work of art. She gets the perfect rolls, the exact amount of force needed to get the balls to fall in for her, the rails bounce exactly how she needs them to, and there are many a prize check left in her hands at the end of the night.
Of course, there are some that might think she was manipulating the game in some way, but... So far nothing has come of those allegations! One reporter got a little too close once and was never heard from again. Of course that disappearance was investigated and Melanie was questioned. As it turns out Mel had agreed to meet the reporter at a sleazy diner knowing it wouldn't bring much attention. After all, who pays attention to professional pool celebrities? No one recognized her as she met with the reporter, or saw them head out back for a cigarette... One of the cooks at the diner told the police they saw Melanie come back inside and finish her drink, but not the reporter, and the young lady didn't even finish the meal she'd ordered! When asked about it Mel cracked a smile and chuckled. "Oh no, I'm already quite full, thank you." came the reply, as well as a fairly hefty tip that was surely appreciated. They didn't mention the devious, knowing smile and nod their way as she got up to leave though... Or how after she left the whole staff let out their pent up breaths.
With nothing to go on the investigation came to a standstill and Melanie was free to go and continue her reign as The Ace! Fancy that...
When Melanie isn't sharking the pool room... Usually she is sharking high class events!
