The_Soviet_Soldier

Appearance - Standing 6'4" tall, Dimitri Kotov appears to be a powerful young man in his early thirties, with broad shoulders, the physique of a Grecian statue and a strong jaw line. His hair is a sandy brown, which he keeps cut conservatively. His eyes are a chestnut brown and most clearly seen when not wearing his domino mask. When he gets aggravated, angry or annoyed they do glow with a frigid blue light.

The Soviet Soldier

-WWII and After the War-

Dimitri Kotov ushered in a new age for Mother Russia, while much is made of the mystery men of America, Dimitri was the first of his age for the United States' ally during World War II. Born to a simple farm family in the Northern Ukraine, he was like the hundreds of thousands of young men called to fight off the Nazi invaders during the siege of Stalingrad.

At one point in the battle Dimitri and his fellow soldiers were pinned down by a German panzer division. When the tanks fired upon Dimitri, the young soldier responded by moving into the path of the shell and taking it square upon the chest. His uniform was blown clear off of him, but he was unscathed. Dimitri hovered over the battle, clearly unaware of what had happened, but unwilling to allow the invaders another chance to hurt his countrymen... The first Soviet super hero dismantled the Panzer division with his bare hands and wild bursts of near total zero cold of what would become titled his "Siberian Stare."

Dimitri spent the war on the front lines, pushing back the German army at every turn, nearly dying more than once at the hands of the more numerous German Ubermenschen, but through a solid, grim determination and a brutal effectiveness he was able to overcome every challenge.

After the Allied forces declared victory over the Axis, Dimitri sought to return to a simple life on his family's farm, however a paranoid Stalin did not want to share the USSR's gratitude with anyone else, and certainly there was no room for a second national hero. Utilizing captured Nazi super science, a troop of his own countrymen managed to subdue a confused and betrayed Dimitri, locking him in a cryogenic chamber where he would be frozen and his metahuman genetics studied, and eventually exploited to create a new generation of super humans to fight against America in a parahuman arms race that underlined the Cold War.

Dimitri spent decades in a cryogenic slumber, until the Chernobyl incident disrupted the power supply to his prison. The Soviet Soldier, hero of Stalingrad and prisoner of the country he once fought so fervently for, had escaped his former homeland.

- Now -

Dimitri, despite attempting to keep a low profile, has turned up a few times in America. Usually to perform some heroic feat before disappearing back into obscurity.

Though he's been reached out to by the Superheroes of today, The Soviet Soldier is understandably gun shy about putting himself in a position where he's forced to trust a group or government ever again.

- Powers -

Flying, Super-Strength, Enhanced Endurance and Invulnerability, and his trademark Siberian Stare are the powers he has on record. He has also demonstrated a certain, precise control over his body and a certain malleability that allows him to devour others. Through some use of spatial bending, he's actually able to do it without ever showing a bulge. There are benefits to The Soviet Soldier for doing just that, but the exact specifications are unknown at this time. And every now and then, his hunger does get the better of him.
