Created as part of a clandestine super soldier initiative, he was intended to be a formidable, stealthy, and controllable assassin. However, the project took an unexpected turn. The scheme, rather absurdly conceived, involved merging the DNA of multiple reptiles with that of a human embryo. Initially, the experiment appeared successful—he demonstrated remarkable adaptability to diverse environments, along with enhanced strength, resilience, and a predatory instinct. Yet, two critical issues ultimately derailed the endeavor. The first problem stemmed from his chameleon DNA, meant to grant him the ability to change colors and blend into his surroundings. However, due to his genetic instability, after several attempts, his scales became permanently dark red with purple highlights. The second issue proved more severe: he developed a distinct personality and became fiercely independent, resisting any attempts at brainwashing. Deemed a failure, he discovered at the age of 13 that he was marked for termination. Without a name at that time, Tilrand escaped the facility, leaving a trail of destruction in his wake, having killed numerous staff members. During this chaotic escape, his burgeoning human instincts led to many female staff becoming victims of both his rage and newfound sexual urges. That night, he realized he had a taste for the flesh of women and developed a particular liking for stockings and heels. He spent the next year scavenging on the streets, surviving on scraps and the occasional unfortunate woman who crossed his path. This life continued until he was discovered by members of a local gang linked to the Irish mafia. It was here he formed a connection with the only woman he saw as more than a mere object—Karen, the crime boss's daughter. Over the subsequent years, Tilrand took on various tasks for Karen’s father, the leader of the infamous Obsidian Knights, while he and Karen fell deeply in love, forging a strong bond. Their affection had to remain hidden from her father, who viewed Tilrand solely as a valuable asset. He would never permit a relationship between his daughter and a creature like Tilrand. Nonetheless, Tilrand garnered significant respect within the gang, possessing the charisma to rally followers and the intimidation to deter others. At the age of 20, Karen devised a plan for Tilrand to assassinate her father and seize control of the gang. However, when the moment arrived, it was Karen who took the decisive shot, killing her father. This act led to Tilrand assuming the role of kingpin for the largest gang in the city. Within a few years, he expanded his control over most illegal operations across three states, either negotiating deals or dismantling rival gangs. Presently, he allegedly orchestrates around 90% of gang-related activity in the city, engaging in everything from human trafficking to arms dealing, as well as the trade of unusual mystical artifacts and arcane items. Rumors suggest he is exploring ways to combine modern weaponry with ancient spells to create super weapons. Tilrand typically dresses in custom-tailored suits topped with a fedora, and his vehicle—a modified black-on-black 1987 Buick GNX—has gained notoriety throughout the city. It stands as his prized possession.
