Vaulos is an incubus... a male demon of lust, said to haunt women's dreams, feeding from their sexual emotions and leaving them weakened, even impregnating them on several occasions.

However, many incubus definitions were written for medieval days, to explain how virgin princesses would become pregnant "Without leaving the castle", with more explanatory reasons easily available. While these were close, Vaulos would find them certainly silly.

For incubi, as Vaulos was aware, were certainly demons of lust and certainly capable of visiting others in their dreams, but far less limited than that. They visited others when awake, and certainly not just females... they fed on emotion, lust, tension, and the occasional soul if its owner were willing enough to part with it, and would take it from any creature they found appealing enough!

And for Vaulos, opportunities were more than available. A rather tall wolf, at 6'7", his black fur, flesh, and clothes easily helped him to fit in with the goth community, they were even able to overlook his red eyes without suspecting anything... demonic.
