VeLok is a supernatural serpent, from another realm, while not a god nor a demon, he has been labelled as both by various cultures throughout his time, likely due to whatever was the most politically expedient label for the cultural leaders of the time, and likely due to VeLok’s tendency to play along with the myths of his strengths and weaknesses, if only for his own amusement.
Souls
Souls are the currency of VeLok’s realm, so he tends to acquire them via trades or just plain predation. Though unlike in the teachings of many religions, souls are organic and can regenerate over time. So, it is possible for a being to sell their soul to VeLok multiple times if required.
Souls are typically exchanged via sex with VeLok, or by being devoured by him, though the latter tends to result in the death of one’s soul, as it is completely absorbed by the serpent. Worshippers are also capable of slowly transferring excess soul-growth to him via their devotion, providing him with a small, but steady stream of it.
The Mortal Realm
The Mortal Realm is a foreign place for VeLok, existing in it requries a constant expenditure of Soul Energy, so if he is not actively engaged in acquiring more of it, he will usually opt to return to his own Realm and save his energy.
Travelling to the Mortal Realm is expensive, so if he is summoned, he is unlikely to go home empty handed, summoners must be prepared to pay some form of ‘Call-Out Fee’, after all.
