Vian

Age: Twenty

Backstory: Vian was born a bastard son to his father who was a wealthy duke ruling over several noble families. His mother was a young maid who had been enchanted by his father's personality. His father had grown apart from his actual wife and had begun spending more and more time alone with his maid eventually leading him in to a delicious affair. After a couple of months the maid's pregnancy began to show and she tried her best to hide it until the duchess eventually found out about her husband's cheating and in a furious rage began beating the maid. Vian's father pulled his wife off the girl, keeping her restrained as the maid ran out of the estate clenching her belly.

The maid eventually found refuge in an inn where she stayed for several days before the duke at last located her and sent a messenger to her. The man gave her a sealed envelope which she opened and read. "My dear, I can not allow a bastard child to be accepted within my family. It would cost me a great loss of prestige among the noble families. I am sorry but you must take the child and leave me." She was absolutely shocked, leading her to deep depression over the next few months until the day of her son's birth came. She was taken to a bed quickly as her water broke and the staff of the inn worked their best to help. After much pushing she finally gave birth to a baby boy but it came at a great price, the life of the mother. She died looking upon her son and smiling at smiling at him before her eyes closed and her spirit drifted away.

Vian spent his young life in the care of an orphanage, growing up there and learning whatever he could from the basic education available. He continued on growing, reaching the age of 14 years-old when he decided to leave and live on his own as a free boy. He sneaked out late in the night and spent many days wandering the streets and many nights sleeping in alleys until he began stealing food from markets and pick-pocketing travelers for the few coins they had in their purses. He lived like this for almost a year until he was taken in to a local street gang, acting as a thug for them as a way to make his living. He was arrested many times by the age of 17 when he decided that the life on the street was too cold and too brutal to continue living in. Using the money he had saved from his years of theft, he bought himself a wardrobe of fine clothes, a pack, several essentials, and then left on his way, leaving the gang behind without even a word and wandering in to the sunset hoping to find a new life for himself.
