She was hired due to her knowledge of the artisian naturue. She is more of the type that will ramble on for hours talking about sculptures whether made of a more rocky stone or a more refine stone like marble. Being a gorgon, Vyza can deal with troublemakers, by turning them into stone taking them somewhere that there will be do way out, then using her knowledge of magic to reverse the effects of her gaze. This way the person won't escape as Vyza will likely devour them, though that is if she is authorized by Lunareva to deal with any means fitting to them. Otherwise they would be send out of the library before the effects wore off.
