Xiuhtecoatl is not your average serpent, he is the Turquoise Serpent, a nahual, or the Spiritual Incarnation of the Aztec deity Xiuhtecuhtli, god of Fire, day, and heat. Xiuhtecoatl traditionally came to earth during the dry season and served as one of the personal warriors of the Sun God. He also kind of helped kill Some Evil Gods. Don't ask how, he doesn't want to talk about it. Xiuhtecoatl Also 'assisted' the Aztecs with their ritual snac-Sacrifices.

Xiuhtecoatl is now a member of the Osyi Clan- wait. How did a mystical Aztec Serpent spirit wind up with a clan of ninjas?
The answer may suprise you. In 1521, the Aztec Empire fell to Spanish conquest, and Xiuhtecoatl was left feeling justifiably angered what with the disease spreading, enslaving, forced conversion, and other hallmarks of European Colonialism. So what else would the warrior serpent do but seek revenge?

It turned out Xiuhtecoatl wasn't the only one who found his home lost to him; in fact, completely by accident, Xiuhtecoatl stubled across a group of Japanese Ronin, having traveled to Tenochtitlan, now Mexico City, after the Japanese Shogun closed the country from all outside contact, stranding the Samurai in China and the Philippenes, some having paid for passage across the Pacific on Spanish treasure ships. Some hidden members of the Osyi clan were among them, and Xiuh was happy help them return- as long as there were some snacrifies to be had on the way...
