In a distant realm, there once were dragons. Majestic and strong, they ruled the land and sky of the World_of_Aazmeral. In ancient cultures of the early humanoid creatures, they offered gifts to the beings, seeking their protection. One of such practices were child offerings. Every ten years, the village elders would select a single child from each settlement to make the journey to the dragon’s lair, where they would never hear from them again. Because of this, every ten years, it was often the youngest child that was chosen – the brat, the disappointment. Yialdwin was one of these, though not for what one would expect.
She was a strong-willed girl the moment she left her mother’s womb, barely crying when she was introduced to the world. By the time she grew up to the age of 6, she had made a reputation of fighting against the boys. Her intentions were for her own benefit, as she wanted to do what she believed in. This did not settle with much of her village, and when the time came at the age of 7, hooded figures came and took her away. With her were a large number of other children much her age, all with fears and anxieties.
They were brought to the base of a mountain, where the children were lined up and waited before a dark cavern. One by one, each child was brought into the darkness, only to then have a roar and a flash of fiery light. When it was Yialdwin’s turn, there was great fear… but also determination.
When she was brought in, she was greeted by hooded figures on either side of a burning bowl, a dark cavern behind them. They asked her a multitude of question and riddles, only to then give her a sword. The rest, is a secret to this day.
From what can be told is that she passed the test and was brought into the fold. She trained with dragons and learned both magic and physical skills. Her determined attitude was sharpened, and her newfound talents strengthened her resolve. Her body was changed through magic, granting her abilities that regular mortals could not comprehend, and masking her identity from those who knew her in the past. Similar to her teachers, she was embodied with magic that allowed for her to absorb energy, both through deep concentration and consumption. In doing so, she would have the ability to enhance either her physical or magical abilities, while hindering the other. A trade off of sorts.
Yialdwin was allowed to leave the mountain after she turned 19, where she mastered the necessary skills to survive and go on her own.
