A place where humans that enter seem to never return from. They vanish inside never to be seen again. Humans are kidnapped by spirits for reasons unknown. No signs of a struggle or anything, they just vanish. The rumors of Yoihana are numerous and mostly false. The connections with human is real though.Yoihana was in truth, a place here fox spirits raised themselves up in relative solitude. The leader of this shrine, a many tailed kitsune, teaches the fox spirits about their gifts and powers. However there is a reason this sect of spirit isolate themselves. And it's because they all had an innate fascination with humans, some could easily call it an obsession. The current leader was the first among them to realize this was something tied into their very souls and deemed it necessary to separate themselves and learn to control these urges else they risk walking into very dangerous situations. Being discovered as not human being a chief worry. The leader took it upon themselves to devise a ritual of sorts to find humans that would be safe to be with. They knew they couldn't just ignore their obsession, they needed human interaction.
In this isolated sanctuary, a few humans already have moved in, this is in response to the wants of the fox spirits that found them. Humans in Yoihana have a mixed bag of lives. Some are happy, some are forced to be there and everything in between. Humans find themselves coming to Yoihana after the ritual finds a suitable human partner for one of the fox spirits. This fox then goes out and for lack of better terms, kidnaps them and brings them back to Yoihana using whatever method they see fit. Once inside Yoihana, humans can't leave without the aid of one of the fox spirits.
When a human becomes trapped inside Yoihana, what happens to them depends on the relationship they end up building with the fox spirit that brought them here. Some could poorly and the human ends up a servant or toy. Some end up with the fox spirit basically taking the human as a mate. The outcomes are as varied as one can imagine.
The main purpose of both taking very select humans and isolation is the same. These fox spirits are teetering between their human side and their beast side. The constant switching between which part of them is out is what could get them into trouble. So they keep to themselves and go after humans that may help control themselves, or to simply feed those urges. The leader of the spirits only really care for the safety of the spirits themselves and not the humans. But, they do understand the humans are vital is a vital part of their lives. It's a very hard balancing act.

This profiles main idea is interaction between humans and foxes/kitsunes. Demi's can sometimes be used but it's mainly for humans.

Humans cannot enter or leave Yoihana without a spirits help.
Humans that are brought into Yoihana normally end up eaten, enslaved or end up in some type of relationship of their captor.
