History:

Yumi is the daughter of the fertiltiy deity Lelith , who conceived her during a trip through the snowy norths, where she met a rather charming (and rough) wolf. It was no wonder that a deity, dedicated to fertilty, would conceive after a mating with said wolf, and so it was later, when Lelith returned from her journey heavily swollen with a litter, that she gave birth to Yumi and her sisters back at the shrine.

Having a wolf as a father showed in the behavior of this particular litter, of course Yumi wasn't any different. They were all very active and pretty demanding on their mother, who took the offer of her oldest daughter Yuki, to tame this lively little bunch.

Yumi in her early years could be described as a tomboy, and it was more than once that her mother had to appologize to the villagers after the white haired vixen got into a fight with the local kids. She and her sisters managed to cause all kinds of mischief that brought headaches to Lelith and her elder daughter Yuki. It was the times when the so called 'snow foxes' were known to cause problems in the neighboring towns, the litter sisters banding together to form a kind of gang. Even the deity and Yuki weren't save from the pranks those young ones played on them, especially the later suffering under them since the gentle vixen wasn't able to punish her younger sister. Lelith herself was all too well aware how she had been at that age and refrained from severly punishing the lively bunch, instead opting to give them a lecture. Over time the behavior of Yumi and her sisters worsened, the little gang not listening to their older sister or even their mother, the young tricksters thinking themself too smart to ever run into problems. All in all nothing too serious happened...they were just kids after all and no one really wanted to anger the local deity with laying a hand on her children. So even with the warnings of their mother, the reign of the snow foxes continued.

It was a while later, Yumi just having celebrated her 12th birthday, that those warnings would come back to haunt those young vixens. Lelith had explicitly forbidden them to head too far from the shrine, or worse head to the border of the deities domain. Of course such a warning didn't mean much to the little pranksters, and against their mothers wishes they headed out. Unknown to the little cuteys a larger bandit group had taken refuge at the borders of Lelith's lands, terrorizing the surrounding lands from their new hidden base. The little fox gang was just exploring the surroundings of the mountains, looking for a hideout where they could play when their luck ran out, the group getting cought and kidnapped by a party of scouts and brought back to the bandits camp. At first they didn't think much of these ruffians, planning already to escape...but that changed quickly....these weren't the nice villagers they played tricks on...these were robbers and murderers...Yumi for the first time in her life felt fear as she was punched and send flying. The pain too real to be a dream she could only stare wideeyed as the bandit leader pulled out a giant knife....his eyes fixated on the tails of the fox group. Yumi and the others were trapped... hugged together, frightened, with the giant of a brute advancing on them....
However, just as he was about to swing..to kill them all, to get their fur to make a warm wintercoat, he went flying....his head gone, his limb body smashing into the wall of the tent....
Wide eyed the snow foxes looked up to see non other coming to their rescue as their elder sister Yuki, her balled fist red with the remains of the leaders head.... Yumi and the other had never seen her gentle older sister, that they had played pranks on so often, like this...hard, strong, calculating...and she wasn't done... the shocked guards nearby toppling over with long throwing knifes sticking out of their heads, the bandit that came rushing in beheaded with a quick swing of her blade....
Only as every immnent danger was disposed of did Yuki return to her gentle smile, Yumi and the others breaking out in tears as they rushed to her.
They had been saved...and it had only been because of Yuki's watchful eyes that the little gang avoided a cruel fate. As they stepped outside, someone else was waiting for them.... the blonde vulpine deity, just in the process of swallowing the last of the shrunken bandits, ending their reign of terror before she turned to them with a stern look, her distended belly gurgling loud....
Lelith didn't say a word...she didn't need to, the young vixens knew they should have listened to her mother and her older sister...with their heads hung low, but glad they had survived the ordeal, they were brought back home.

After this near death experience this little bunch changed considerably, especially Yumi. Now that they had seen what her older sister Yuki was capable of doing if she wanted to, they decided to be a lot nicer to her an listen to her words...after all if she got really mad one day...they didn't want to be on the receiving end of a punishment....

Yumi herself calmed down a lot after this chapter of her life. She had learned to listen to her elders, especially her mother, and had discovered a newfound respect for her. The energy she before had used to play tricks on others now went elsewhere, and with the help of her mother the young growing vixen discovered a more feminin side to her. Yumi started to enjoy the art of dancing after having seen her mother perform on the annual harvest festival, something she trained with the help of the very agile Yuki.
As she grew older her mother also helped her to discover and tame her own magic, training her in the arts and teaching her the mental willpower so she could harness them.



Character:

The grown Yumi is a farcry from her young self, she is now collected and normally acts very ladylike, something she learned over the years from her mother. When she is with her family or close friends she drops the act thought, her old more tomboyish side emerging.

After she was saved from Yuki, she has gotten really attached to her, aside from being sisters they also became very close friends, which lead can lead to some playful teasing.

She is hard to anger, but if she does get angry she can be a force of nature, something she probalby inherited from her father.


Fun facts:

Unlike her mother, Yumi doesn't mind the cold very much. Seeing Yumi walking barefoot through the snow is even able to make Lelith rush back into her warm bed. As a tradeoff Yumi mostly suffers in summer where she would sleep most of the day, if it was too hot.

For someone her size she can eat surprisingly much, especially around autumn when winter gets closer, the young vixen having inherited her fathers rather efficient and fast digestive system, would sometimes even surprise her family with that. Yuki especially seems to get rather annoyed that no matter how much Yumi eats she doesn't seem to gain any weight from it.

Inventor of the magical freezer and fridge. It made life in the shrine a lot easier to be able to store food in them.


Skills:

Ice Magic: Quite the opposite of her mothers fire magic, her fathers origin probably leading her to have an affinity for the chilling magic (Not that Lelith minds....after all its quite usefull for having a freezer at that point in history)
By this point the vixen can freely vary the intensity, from making a nice cool breeze to turning someone into a block of ice.

Dancing: She has learned from a pro. Her mother teaching her everything she needed to know. From there Yumi expanded her knowledge to include some more 'exotic' dances.

Babysitter: In no way is she as experienced as her elder sister Yuki, but always wanting to hang out with her it became second nature to her to help with her mothers litters together with Yuki.

Despite her fathers nature, she has become quite a gentle soul who wouldn't harm anyone.



Yumi elegance is best seen in the way she dances.



Although sometimes, mostly in summer, her more laid back side comes out.



As a young kit she was quite the troublemaker.
