After falling foul of an unfortunate accident, most folks in her predicament would have shuffled off this mortal coil. As it is, she found herself without a body - but, dead? Not a chance. After all, just because you're a ghost doesn't mean you can't live life (for want of a better term) to the full - after all, a little bit of see-through-ness shouldn't stop you doing the things you love - especially not if you're just as solid as anyone else.

Now, being dead has given her somewhat altered needs. After all, she doesn't exactly need food in the traditional sense. What she does feed on is life itself - but not in a bad way. It's entirely passive, simply being around enough life keeps her nourished and happy. Of course, having a living thing actually inside her grants her far greater benefits.

That said, she is capable of consuming ghostly things. One of Zoe's favourite tricks is pouncing free-floating souls and gobbling them up - there's no shortage of them in a place where people are constantly devoured and come back to life, after all! Usually the process is fairly harmless, leaving the prey's spirit simply trapped within her belly until the time comes for them to reform, at which point she coughs up the newly-alive victim - in fact, Zoe's attention can even speed the process along a bit!
She doesn't usually absorb the spirits of still living things without a very good reason, but she is definitely fond of taking trips to the Mocha Maus and partaking of the Dead Coffee. How do you kill a coffee? Only Max knows. And she ain't complaining.

Oh, and she also thinks it's fun to possess people from time to time. It's usually fairly harmless, though she might try to get people in trouble by having them grope dragonesses and silly things like that. After all, if you can't have a laugh, what's the point in living?
