Kailey was always a happy girl. Even in death, she still kept that smile on her face. Her life was fairly normal before her death. Her and her friends had just become sophomores in high school, and they were looking forward to the new year. But, Kailey wouldn't be able to spend much time in high school, as her death was sooner than expected. Winter break had arrived, and Kailey and her family traveled during it. They went to New York to visit some family, but it was a fairly bad time to head over.

They arrived in New York after a while, and as always, Kailey was happy to see it. They made their way over to Kailey's grandparents house, and arrived fairly soon. Everything was going good for the first week, but the second week was when everything went wrong. Kailey and her family were just driving along, but they had taken a wrong turn and arrived in a fairly sketchy looking neighborhood. Her father said that everything would be fine, but he couldn't be farther from the truth. They were fairly close for leaving the neighborhood before people began shooting at them. Her mother died immediately and her father tried to get them out of there, but he was too late. A bullet was lodged in his throat, which caused him to spin out at crash into a tree. Luckily, Kailey was still alive, although she had lost both of her parents. But the shooters weren't done yet. The last thing Kailey saw was one of the doors being flung open and someone was pointing a gun at her. A gunshot rang off in her ears and everything went black.

Kailey woke up sometime later. She had no idea how she even survived, but she was somehow alive. She wasn't in her car, however. She was in the middle of a forest. It turns out that she had been transported to the Nexus upon her death. She couldn't exactly feel anything in her body, save for a few things, and she felt incredibly hungry. A little bunny just happened to hop by, and Kailey felt something take over her. She immediately grabbed the bunny and stuffed it down her throat, whole and alive. She had no clue how she did it, but she did. She decided to begin searching for clues on where she was. She didn't find much about it, however. She did come across the park, seeing a fair amount of people there. She decided to ask and see if anyone knew where she was, but everyone fled when she approached. She was discouraged and went to the lake, only to discover her problem. She definitely died, but she was a zombie. Now she understood why they fled. But, she didn't give up hope. She kept searching for someone who wouldn't be scared of her, even if it took years.
