Zoran

The Maledictus bloodline earned its name from a tragedy many centuries ago. Their ancestors incurred the wrath of an eldritch enityt, cursing their bloodline with a slew of misfortunes. The catch was that every member of the bloodline would be afflicted with their own unique, and often bizarre curse upon their tenth birthday. Two are rarely afflicted in the same way, and sometimes this twist has even helped members of the bloodline attain greatness throughout their life.

Zoran was not one of them. His own curse was one of the most bizarre. On his tenth birthday, nothing immediately seemed to happen. However., over time his height began to drastically decrease. It was slow, but became more apparent as months passed. It only ebbed when he reached the diminished size of four inches tall, and even then, it continued at a much slower rate. However, there was a means to undo this effect. Discovered purely by accident, Zoran found that by stealing from others and offering various things of emotional or material vale to the eldritch horror from millennia ago, he could undo the effects of the curse for a short period of time, growing in correspondence with the value of each offering with a matching duration before returning to a doll-like size. This lead him to the occupation of a thief, living through that medium. Being so small, alongside other small benefits has actually helped in the occupation as well.

The smaller Zoran is, the better his strength and durability scales for his size. While not even close to a 1:1 ratio, he could for example, lift a large book while only three inches tall without much difficulty or endure someone's entire weight stepping on him without serious injury. While getting smaller still decreases his strength overall due to mass, the formula makes him perpetually stronger and more resilient than someone his size should normally be. This is to make it possible to actually succeed as a thief. Though he is still overall vastly weaker than a normal person, or himself for that matter at normal size.

Zoran himself has accepted this and adapted to the lifestyle, but maintaining a fairly substantial moral code for a thief. His preferred targets are the exceedingly wealthy, those known for wrong doing, or even stealing back things that have already been stolen. Though it isn't uncommon for him to mix things up or take from strangers. Due to excess goods, he has also come upon a good deal of wealth on the side. He is spiteful toward demonic beings for their involvement in his fate, often discriminating against them and trying to steal as much as possible from them when the time is applicable. Bar from basic theft, he rarely partakes in other criminal activity. He does carry around a blade suited for his primary size, the edge sharp enough to cut like a small razor and help him through various environments.
