On the Fly: The Exploits of the Superheroine Danielle Obrove; Or, Take a Fricking Zip, Babes; Or, Pocket Dimensions; Or, Fastener Lass
Kudzu City! The shining jewel of industry within its galactic arm, and the port of call for anyone looking to embark on deep-space travel. The city owes much of its success to the cadre of metahumans, alien lifeforms, and billionaires with too much spare time who work to protect it. These superheroic defenders see to it that the monsters and madmen threatening the city are kept under control so that life can proceed normally.

Danielle Obrove is one such defender, serving Kudzu City under her superhero handle, Zypper. Originally only a mild-mannered reporter for the city’s esteemed news publication, the Low Valley Journal, Danielle received her powers while investigating the crash site of a transport vessel rumored to contain advanced alien technology. One of the devices leaped from the wreckage and merged with Danielle’s body, granting her remarkable zipper-themed abilities! Feeling a sense of duty toward Kudzu City, Danielle swore to use her newfound powers to protect her home from the many forces threatening it!

Zypper’s abilities center around utilizing (what else?) unique quantum zipper technology! Additional zippers of varying sizes are generated from the original device fused vertically along her abdomen. These can then be used for numerous space-bending effects. When attached to an object, the zippers can be opened, allowing passage inside of the object. The zippers can also be configured to lead to a unique extradimensional pocket reality that Zypper has access to, or even tunneled together to create complex portal networks. A zipper can be wrapped around an object, unzipped to divide it into pieces, then used to zip those parts onto something else! Truly, Zypper is one of the most versatile heroes in all of Kudzu City!

Being the inadvertent host to this incredible technology provides benefits other than warping space to one’s whims! When the primary zipper attached to Danielle’s body is opened, it generates her costume, a slim purple latex number, which affords her increased strength and durability. Zypper is by no means the strongest hero in Kudzu City, but being able to take a hit or two is helpful when pitted against giant monsters!

By day, Danielle continues to do her work for the Journal as a reporter, springing to action as Zypper if she encounters danger while on the beat, although her solo efforts are beginning to pose a problem. Zypper has yet to pledge herself to any of Kudzu City’s various superhero teams, though that’s not as if she isn’t receiving pressure to do so. The city’s heroes form a complex bureaucracy, choosing which team will be deployed to each crisis that appears. Kudzu City doesn’t offer much room for vigilantism. It’s only a matter of time before Zypper has to put freelancing behind and join a team.

Danielle Obrove possesses a slight, trim figure. She has pale skin, brown hair, and brown eyes. While not in costume, she dresses for her work as a journalist in a dress shirt and black dress pants, with her hair done up in a practical ponytail. To keep the giant zipper fused to her belly concealed, Danielle wraps the device in binding fabric each day before leaving for work. Her costume includes a zipper-lined mask so that no one realizes her secret identity, and she also lets her hair down as Zypper, to be certain no one recognizes her. Foolproof.

Kudzu City remains ever fraught with danger, but with Zypper keeping watch, the unquiet metropolis has become just a little bit safer!

Danielle Obrove is the alternate universe analogue of the dastardly human rancher (that is, he is a half-octopus man who ranches humans), Daniel Obrove. She is not his former life, his blood relative, or a close acquaintance. She's the Obrove if Obrove were a reporter and zipper-themed crimefighter, while the grazier is Obrove in the form of a wasteland bon vivant raising a rather curious herd of livestock!
