Bael was initially born in another world. This world was inhabited solely by elves...but was not peaceful. The elves warred with one
another. Bael was born a cousin to the clan's ruling family, and was still a child when the next war broke out. His family didn't want
to get caught up in the war wanted flee the conflict, but they were unable to get out in time. As such, Bael was entered into service
to fight in the clan's army. His relationship to the ruling family earned him better training as a child and a higher position in the
service as an adult.
Elves live long lives in his world, and the wars last a long time in return. Years would go by while the different clans fought each
other, and Bael was knee deep in the conflict when the incident occurred. A large battle involving many mages resulted in a catastrophy
on the battlefield that resulted in many deaths. The arcane energies spread outward, affecting many nearby people in different ways. In
Bael's case, the energies whisked him away from his homeland and sent him into a transitory arcane "plane" or "dimension". Here he met
someone - a red headed fairy girl who he built a relationship with, and helped him through his mess.
Although he wasn't able to return to his original world, he did manage to get to the Nexus with help from that fairy. Although they grew
close, it apparently wasn't meant to be. He used the magic he learned there to enroll in an academy, learning the arcane practices, how
to brew potions and cast powerful spells. He hoped to use this knowledge to return home, but the more he researched the more he learned
that he was stuck. So he quit after attaining the rank of an Archmage.
Nowadays Bael owns a shop selling potions, runes, and other magical items. He has a large alchemy garden behind his home, and practices
in his spare time. A picture of his family and the fairy girl are kept on the mantelpiece in his home as a reminder while he works on
building a new life in the Nexus.
