This world is based on a multitude of vore high school interactives I have read. It is not at all a terribly deep setting whatsoever. But rather, a frame work of rules for like minded players who enjoy like minded things to abide by. Any person may construct a character for this setting. And if they do, this profile has been constructed for them to link to so as to minimize the work required explaining the kind of world their character exists in.
A Hungry Few is a world that very closely mirrors our own. There is no magic, or high fantasy concepts entailed in normal, every day lives. No wizards, nor demons, nor elves, nor kitsunes, nor aliens. Just people. Weather they be average or extraordinary. Destined to be the leaders or the dregs, or all the many shades of thing that lies in between. There is, however, some notable differences. Though the most noteworthy of coarse, being that people. Some people, have the ability to consume others alive. Giving quite a literal and stark reality of this metaphoric dog eat dog world.
To put it frankly, there are those who can 'vore', and those who cannot. The ability to devour another human being something that is genetic; a trait you are born with that develops and manifests during puberty; rather then something that is taught. This, of coarse, makes a rather stark difference in the who can, and cannot. The 'vores' tend to devour those weaker then themselves without regret and those without the gift live there lives in a constant fear of simply being snatched up and devoured on a whim.
Occasionally, a 'vore' might take a shine to a normal, non vore capable person for one reason or another. This affords that 'non vore' a certain degree of protection from other predators who might fear the wrath of their hungry protectors. But, even so, that still does afford them any sort of complete immunity from being eaten by another predator that thinks they might get away with it, or are simply stronger then the protector themselves. It is also important to note that being 'vore capable', does not grant immunity from the stomach of another stronger, superior predator.
Though, more often a predator will extend 'protection' to a prey, or less capable vore for the purposes of staking them out as property rather then holding any sort of affection for them. It is not uncommon to see people wearing collars upon there necks displaying a predators name. It is the owning predators way of saying 'reserved for later', and while perhaps some are kept alive for some period of time to preform services for their predator to keep their favor. Nearly all of these people will inevitably find themselves churning in the gullet of their master.
There is no magic in this setting, there is no cloning, and there is no reformation. Those that die, stay dead.
• Humans only:
This is a human only setting. It is based on the modern world as we know it. Their are, of coarse animals. But they are merely animals, and they have no human like intelligence whatsoever.
• Vore is genetic:
The ability to vore is a genetic anomaly. Often there are particular families or blood lines that exhibit tendencies toward producing Vores, much like many blood lines have tendencies toward certain diseases. However, the results of what actually causes this particular manifestation remains unknown. And scientific efforts toward recreating it, or hindering it have both proved unfruitful.
• Vore is legal:
For no really justifiable reason, the consumption of others is not illegal, or considered unlawful in anyway.
• Normal people in a (mostly) normal world:
There is no magic, nor is their any absurd magic like science.
• Mortality:
This is a fatality focused setting. Those that die to not reform. And those devoured will be digested and evacuated from the predator just like any other meal would be.
