Jubilee is what is known as a Sylph. A synthetic, small humanoid that acts as a scout for a larger vanguard. Standing at 4.5 inches, she is a stalwart soldier. A cybernetic entity, built on a biological base, she hails from a world in which magic and technology work hand in hand. The Sylph are created from faerie cells, and thus are organic creatures in order to produce and channel mana from their surroundings. Possessing incredible regeneration, their bodies are further enhanced by technological implants.
The first of these is common among all Sylphs. Their cloaks are actually tethered through receptors on their back and shoulders, allowing for interface with the so called boost system. By channeling mana into the fabric, the cloth becomes rigid and enables flight. Depending on the Sylph's mana manipulation capacity, they can reach top speeds of many kilometers per hour. To prevent damage to their own bodies, they project a forward barrier.
For armament, they possess miniature rifles known as Faerie Shots. Mana is condensed into capsules like bullets, which are loaded into the chamber. Upon firing, the casing is discarded. The hammer, carrying half of the spell's circle, strikes the back of the casing and produces a beam. Depending on the shell type used, multiple types of shots can be fired. The typical, long range beam may not cause a lot of damage, but can strike vital areas. A scattering shot can be used for wide range blinding. In addition, Sylphs come equipped with a set of nanoscale, mana infused explosives. Usually for breaching/taking out defenses.
Upon their creation, social debate has come up regarding the observed humanity of these soldiers. All Sylph are conscious, and possess individualism and personality. Once infused with mana for the first time, they can live for twenty years on average, although this number has never truly been tested. Using them as expendable scouts and warriors had brought their birth nation to the brink of a civil war.
