TL;DR Kaio is a friendly purple person who abandoned a violent life amomg the stars, looking for a new meaning. They can be played in either Sci-fi, fantasy, or modern scenarios.

At first, people who meet Kaio will have to manage to get past a flirty exterior, they are introduced to the little ray of sunshine that they are. Even though they are far away from home, their charm, kindness, and bubbly nature will certainly show through if they trust you enough. Despite the occasional paranoia, Kaio happens to be rather curious, and they often get into rather dangerous situations because of it.
They have a nice face and short brunette hair that's usually styled without much thought, purple skin, great hips, and a lean athletic build.

Kaio is an ADI originally created to serve as an engineer by Dr. Josephine Romezi II as part of a small experimental run of ADI Specifically suited for life aboard starships. At some point, Kaio was pulled from Engineer training and was transferred to navigation. They say it was because they showed a skill for FTL calculation, but really their hips just kept getting stuck in the maintenence shafts and it was the easiest task to crosstrain them on.
At the time, The Mariner System was in rebellion against its homeworld Terrogaea for colonial exploitation. Kaio ended up being a navigator on a fleet meant to strike a final blow against the Absolutist rule of the homeworld regime. It turned into a quagmire. Terrogaea was nearly wiped clean with an orbital bombardment, and Kaio found themself fleeing both Terrogean and Mariner forces after participating in a mutiny that destroyed the majority of both fleets. (The fact that this succeeded in preventing the destruction of most of Terrogaea's civilian population was largely overlooked.)
They now run a small freighter, The Scarab, helping out the population of runaways and renegades hiding out from the greater Mariner-Terrogaea war spreading across their portion of known space. They can most often be found scoping the planets lying on or near the run from Meetpoint Station to the Farthest Reach Stellar Hub. Kaio sometimes talks about a third waystation called Themis, but it's unclear if it's a place or even a person. Spoiler Warning, She's both.
