Luna was a slave when she was a child. Now before you roll your eyes at the cliché start... She was a happy slave, she lived as a servant in a noble's mansion who believed it was a good thing to educate and take care of people. Luna learned how to clean, how to cook and take care of house chores of course but she also learned how to read and write, she had time to play and she was tutored in sciences even if she still is very basic at it.
Of course a cliché is not so easily defeated, and tragedy struck. The noble that took care of them was branded a heretic for his views on the world and the mansion burned to the ground. Most of the slaves escaped the carnage that followed but many were slaughtered, including Luna's parents. Her older sister managed to escape but Luna doesn't know where she is now. Luna came back to the ruins of the mansion, hoping others would come back, telling her what she should do now, but instead looters came.
The looters took pity on the girl and forced her to take some of the goods they could scavenge from the mansion's ruins and took her with them, there she led a life of banditry, where she was taught the basics on how to use a sword and was given a suit of light armour after a while. However, Luna didn't want to stay a bandit, so she eventually left after a few years. She is now all on her own, ready to explore the world and find a purpose, or an end to her story.
