Alyssa knows nothing of her family or race. She is unaware of where she originally came from and what her name may have first been. She's an alien, or 'was' an alien. A life spend on Earth seems to have altered her perspective somewhat.
Alyssa was found years ago in the middle of a field. There were burnt ashes around her and the ground itself had been electrocuted to the point it had become glass. The baby itself was unrecognizable for it's bizarre shape and appearance, it was laying in some kind of exotic basket. A farmer's wife picked the creature up and took it back home to show the family, but by the time she'd gotten back through the field the creature had changed. It looked human, like any human baby only it's skin was a bright lime green.
The local town doctor was called, who pondered this odd child with a scientific curiosity. After a few week the baby's skin slowly turned to a more 'human' colour, and any proof that she was different or exceptional seemed to change. She was just a regular girl now, ready to start a life amungst everyone else.
When she actually discovered her abilities isn't really know, even to herself. It seemed like she'd always been able to change her pigment and features. Alyssa knew she had a 'default' setting, but that setting was green and she couldn't be that colour without people noticing.
From a young age Alyssa was always experimenting with her body to see just how far she could alter her appearance. It started as changing her hair, to her eyes and eventually she found herself able to take completely different forms, both male and female. She never used any of these 'alter egos' in public though, for fear that she might slip up and be discovered.
Alyssa reveals herself as you see her. But in public she's a much lighter and pale colour. Something that doesn't stand out. She keeps her bright red hair and dull freckles that litter the bridge of her nose.
Whenever Alyssa changes her appearance, it's like she's holding her breath. It's not easy to maintain and most days during school she'd sneak into the girl's toilets and let her skin change back to it's natural green, just for a few minutes before dubbing her ordinary face and heading back into the world. It's not the easiest life to live. Alyssa sees it as more of a sickness than ability.
Alyssa often ponders if her 'green' self is her species true form. Maybe it is. Or perhaps a life lived on Earth and never seeing her own race has made her adapt. Who knows, there's much about Alyssa that she herself wonders about. Every night dreaming of the stars and thinking of the world she was excluded from to live here on this small planet.
Alyssa has left school and is now twenty one years of age. She doesn't know that at this time her species comes of age, and 'changes' start to occur. The hunger has already started to settle in, and soon she''ll be overpowered by her desire to devour.

Alyssa is not a fan character... though after finally seeing Miss Martian I do have to admit the similarities. I created her without knowing that. But I wouldn't be against playing Alyssa as this superhero character if that's what you'd like. I consider myself flexible. So if you want the 'superhero' scene let me know.
Still. It remains these are accidental similarities. Just FYI.

:- Can and often plays as a herm. Either by turning herself into one during the scene (easily done by a shape shifter) or have Alyssa's gender always being that of a herm.
:- Alyssa has a sister named Ebony, who can be brought into a scene if the idea calls for it.
:- Alyssa often 'wears' skins to hide herself from appearing totally naked. In truth they're just apart of her body that she 'manifests' so not to appear completely naked. If you need a reference here they are: CHEST LEGS
