Shama

Raised from a mere child as a servant of The Light, to ignore temptations of the flesh and strive always for perfectly pure piety. Years were spent learning and understanding scripture, helping to spread the word and training young apprentices and acolytes. Years spent in devotion and servitude until the secret of Light revealed itself to her.

As with most religions, there are always grains of truth to the stories for those willing and able to delve deep enough into them. The Light is no different - those who've worked tirelessly to maintain their purity and avoided temptations are bestowed a gift, a gift that lies dormant and mostly forgotten, resigned to myths and awe-inspiring allegories. It was said that only the most worthy and proven would be blessed with the gift of Light.

Shama didn’t consider herself special, it was not that she wasn’t aware of her intellectual standing compared to her peers and even the older priests, she simply and fundamentally accepted the virtue of modesty. She didn’t judge those who gave in to the occasional and petty vice, it was not her place to judge. All changed for the girl one night, an unnatural feeling of detachment settling over her, deep blue eyes turning to the curtains in her room and knowing she had to leave them open. She slept without clothes, on top of the blankets, as her mind soared. She saw stars born and die, angels sing at the creation of life and weep at the callous nature of death – she floated motionless and unwavering as hordes of demons tempted her with forbidden foods and sexual delights. She saw it all and didn’t shake under the magnitude of it, didn’t give in to sin. She woke to pure white light, bright enough to blanket the room. Her blue eyes stayed wide open in awe, body trembling and mind racing to understand what she was seeing until it began to fade, drawn into her. She lay for several hours listening to her heart beat, feeling the pulsing of Light that was inside her. As Light always does, Shama felt her mind illuminate with the powers and potential that swam within her.

There are three standard tiers of Light magic. Shama can be played at any tier and with a certain understanding of each power.
Tier 1: Light Creation – able to light a room or cavern and can focus the light to blind someone or counter dark magic. User is also able to shoot deadly beams of light.
Tier 2: Mind of Light – User can use the Light within them to increase their bodies physical capabilities and strength, as well as perform minor healing spells on others. Can also boost others physical and mental states, although to a lesser degree.
Tier 3: Light Touch – able to use light to heal those with serious or otherwise fatal injuries. User is able to use Light to touch the mind of others – telekinesis, weak hypnosis, disorientation, emotion manipulation. Tier 1 abilities are far stronger.
God Tier: Light Mastery – able to fully manipulate light, eradicating beings and objects on the spot with minimal to no effort, just as the user can create. Can also instantly control other’s minds – utterly control. Memories, actions, thoughts, emotions, what they see and feel.
