Well, I suppose I should introduce myself. Hello, my name is Daleana Ask, and I am taking over as first officer of this ship. Now, scuttlebutt has gone around that I don't deserve this posting, since all of my previous work has been back at Central Command. However, I have served with distinction in my sixteen years of service, including the Homeworld Invasion ten years ago, so don't push me.
Yes, Lieutenant Kober, I see you looking at me like that. I am a dryad. I look like a human, but with leaves and blossoms for hair. And no, my pollen won't get anyone pregnant. For one, they would not come in contact with the spores in any way that could lead to conception by any means short of shoving me into their uterus. For two, I take medication to control that. And no, I won't burst into flames at the sight of a match.
