During the war in Northrend, all came to fear the mighty of the Lich King's servants known as the Val'kyr. These chilling maidens, wielding the unholy powers bestowed upon them raised and sowed death everywhere they went. Yet even their fearsome power was not sufficient to save their dark lord from his eventual demise.
While most of the remaining Val'kyr joined the ranks of the Forsaken, a few chose to seek their own path in the world. One of them was Brynhildre, the former princess of Utgarde. Despite the terrible powers given to her, she had nothing to do with her master gone. She saw her sisters join another, weaker liege in the Banshee Queen, but refused to bow down to one lesser than her former lord. So instead, she set out into the world to find her own path.
Where that would lead her was unknown. Would she find a new dark master to serve? Or will she halt her search, and become mistress of her own fate? Could she be turned to use her powers for good, instead of spreading death? That would remain to be seen...
