A little monster from Desideriis

  A slender, freckled hand raised to the darkness above, a golden nail shining with a sinister splendor. The darkness reached out and touched it, accepting the offering, and the sky turned blood red. The nail dissolved into wisps of shadows, whispering promises.

I can give you so much, in exchange for...

  Fearlessly, that pale hand reached up and grasped the darkness above, echoes of good and evil filling the air. His grip tightened and the scales tipped. The karmical imbalance of the boy shook the heavens; the lives he had ended and the souls he had claimed. Such evil, the sky wept tears of iron.

What devilry has besought this? What heart could endure...

  The delicate tinkle of nails striking the ground sung like a gentle rain. The hand began to collect them where they fell, gathering them like wildflowers. The enraged howl of the wind broke the night, the blood red sky focusing it's piercing gaze. The nails bored into the child, pinning him to the earth and soaking his garments in blood. He didn't so much as struggle. He barely even flinched.

  Cameron had always been an unusual child. Ever since he was a toddler, he'd seemed to be able comprehend things far beyond what his ability should be. However, he never quite seemed to get a good grasp on empathy. This made him a bit of an outcast, and that topped with his red hair and pale appearance made a lot of older kids think he would be easy pickings. While at first he didn't pay them any heed, he began to feel powerless as they would gang up against him. Hurt, angry, and ever so clever, he started to watch them. One by one he learned their weaknesses and used those against them, stripping away their power over him and hitting them where it hurt the most. Then one time, he ate one of them... and he's been in love with the feeling of power ever since, always ambitious and seeking more.
