When advances in solid state physics and studies of insectoid appendage articulation made ninth-generation mechas viable, Elisabeth St.-Claire was one of the enlisted soldiers who volunteered to have her mind uploaded into a mechagirl frame. The armed forces promised automatic promotion to a higher pay grade and a civilian android body upon completion of service. She served with valor and distinction in two separate wars over a course of ten years; under international conventions, uploaded mechas were to have their operational cores left intact once the body was disabled, and Elisabeth fought with honor and a strict adherence to the rules of war in a world where so many did not.

All the more bitter for such an idealistic and hopeful young woman to be viciously betrayed.

Meant to be honorably discharged from the armed forces, Elisabeth picked the civilian body she wanted - the Delete frame - and her mind core was dutifully transferred to it. At this point her superior officers and the base quartermaster promptly "lost" her paperwork and she mysteriously "vanished" from the records while her body was discreetly sold to a brothel. Awakening in her new body as promised, Elisabeth was horrified to learn of what had transpired and has been catering to the carnal lusts of others ever since.

To the customers, she is advertised as a former giantess, unwilling, and high-spirited.

Delete's current owners quickly discovered that Elisabeth St.-Claire was an intractable person who would not cooperate with them and could not be gotten rid of. To get around this, they sought out a second personality to install into the android, one that would be compliant and submissive. Recruiting, as usual, from the destitute and impoverished left behind by the rapid advancement of technological frontiers, Delete's owners purchased a young peasant girl from her poverty-stricken family and paid to have her uploaded to the bot. Nanami is often the default personality of the sexbot and unlike the others her primary function is not the pleasure of customers but rather to be the respectable personality to ward off suspicion.

As her uploading was done with parental consent and with her own acquiescence, Nanami satisfies the statutory requirements to inhabit a mecha body and is always the one present when inspectors arrive. She is almost entirely ignorant of the existence of the other personalities within her body and what happens to them, thinking that she herself is the only mind within the android. Although her memories are often peppered with mysterious gaps and blackouts which she cannot explain, Nanami still tries her honest best to please her owners and is the usual personality that performs routine maintenance on the body. Nanami is quite unaware that she has been sold to the customers many times before, as her session memory is always wiped after an encounter, and would be horrified to discover that she is in fact a sex slave rather than the domestic servant and errand girl she fancies herself to be.

Customers interested in her are informed that she is a perpetual virgin, submissive, highly confused, and meek. Memory wipes are mandatory!

Unlike most of the other personalities embedded within Delete, Lucia van der Raalse was already an uploaded mind when she came to inhabit Delete's body. In an effort to expand the clientele and cater to those unsatisfied by either Elisabeth or Nanami's personalities, the owners hired Lucia to be a dominatrix android. She, beguilded by promises of a brand new, state-of-the-art body to replace her increasingly obsolete and ageworn Model 0M-13TT3, quickly signed the required paperwork and had her core inserted into Delete. Lucia isn't too concerned with the occasional lapse in memory or the more ethically questionable behavior of her owners, nor is she really bothered by having to perform for customers; her one passion in life is domination and she indulges fully in it.

Lucia is the personality sent when her owners need to shake down a hapless delinquent for money or retrieve stolen goods. Capable of both swallowing a single individual or unbirthing him, Lucia's mind is also authorized to exceed the usual restraints on Delete's strength and speed. This also makes her well-suited for the customers who ask to be dominated, although she's quite happy to domme any victim while customers pay to spectate. She does have safewords built into her, however, and is still subject to the Slave Mode settings of the android body, which she exceedingly resents. By request (and extra payment) she can also enhance the experience with a futa addon.

Even today, many girls for whom modeling agencies would not spare a second glance set out for the mind upload clinics, full of hopes. Celise Delacroix was one such girl, a tragic aspirant who fell through the cracks.

She arrived at the modeling agency with nothing but hopes and a printed ad tucked away in her left shoe. While the agency made a show of letting her browse a catalog of the future bodies she might inhabit, they planned to sell her away to cover their debts and eventually she came to reside in Delete after being forgotten in storage for years. Naive and optimistic at first, and quite taken with her new, beautiful body, Celise quickly came to discover her situation with horror and loathing. Cut off from any contact with the outer world, she dreads awakening to a leering client ... or awakening to discover that once more her memories are gone. She tries her best to leave notes for the others and for herself.

Celise's experiences in Delete have turned her into a mistrustful, withdrawn woman, manipulative by sheer necessity of survival, but the same bubbly modeling aspirant is only one memory wipe away ...

Growing up in a privileged home where her ancestors had made their fortunes in the tech sector, Valerya was groomed from childhood to be the successor of a multinational business. She inherited the company at an early age and proceeded to prove herself ruthless and determined in the cutthroat tech world. Smaller competitors were bullied out, larger ones bribed, talent and resources acquired through legal and not so legal means. Valerya was known to keep former competitors against whom she held especial grudges as micro-sized slave bots, with police bribed to look the other way with her vast fortune. Alas, justice caught up to her after fifteen years of iron-handed practices. Overeager vigilantes who fancied themselves warriors of justice had Valerya herself uploaded to a micro slave bot, and there she might have stayed had she not been bought by Delete's owners.

Valerya fills another of Delete's prostitution niches, that catering to a clientele which loves to see powerful women brought low and humiliated. Because of this, her services are immensely popular amongst less successful women and Valerya loathes every moment of it. Of all the personalities within the android frame, she is the one who plots the most towards escape and spends her time in Sleep Mode contemplating revenge. So far her plans have not borne fruit and Valerya is cunning enough to keep careful records, leaving her cognizant of her plans despite frequent memory wipes.

For years, she was one of the most popular teen idols of the new generation and a pioneer of the tech-inspired synthetica style sweeping the music scene. Possessed of glamour, charisma, charm, and a razor-sharp wit, Red Sherman ruled the airwaves. But success is a mercurial mistress and what popularity giveth it can easily take away. As she aged, being displaced by ever younger and more beautiful girls (many of whom cited her as an inspiration), Red's media team and publicity officers gradually abandoned her for rising prospects. But the fiery-spirited and outspoken Red was hardly one to age gracefully.

Instead, she longed to recapture her glory days by submitting herself to the knife. She had already ordered a highly customized body, one that resembled her younger self at its most glamorous right in her late teens, but wanting to surprise the scene she had her operation conducted secretly. It is said that every new frontier is only a frontier until the law catches up. Laws and regulations lagged in the wake of technological innovation, as science and engineering are hardly content to wait for legislation to catch up. Once the horrific child experiments which pioneered the science of mind uploading were fully revealed, however, world governments immediately banded together to stop any such further atrocities even while cynically plotting how to best exploit the newfound knowledge. Isabel Escobez was one of the young officers of law enforcement who volunteered for mind uploads once the police were nationalized.

While the very idea of roboticized police forces came under vigorous protest at first, the people were overborne and soon mecha police became nearly ubiquitous. Isabel's keen detective work and meticulous skill at investigations made her a prime candidate for undercover work, so she was sent for various delicate matters too sensitive for the rank-and-file to handle. Spying upon Delete's establishment while Lucia worked, however, she was exposed and quickly overpowered, which ended with Isabel's body smashed and her mind core savagely ripped out by Lucia. Isabel next awoke inside of the body of the woman who had defeated her, enslaved as much as the other personalities within Delete, while the police never did solve the disappearance case.

And there are many clients out there having fallen afoul of the police who would love nothing more than to have one obedient to their every whim ...

The rise in technology gave new expression paths for all kinds of crimes, including sex crimes. Prominent in high profile prosecution cases, Senator Camden Snow was indicted for illegal possession of - among other things - a slave sexbot during his reelection year. After being thrown into prison on conviction of a number of sex-related offenses, Camden was offered an escape by Delete's owners. Rashly taking it, the former senator who had been a rugged football player and avid sportsman in his previous life now found himself trapped in a woman's body and subject to the same abuses that he had visited upon his own sexbot.

Adjustment to a female body can be much more difficult for men. While amputees report the sensation of phantom limbs, a similar phenomenon is met by men who are suddenly receiving signals from nerves that their brains are not wired to process. Phantom dick syndrome is indeed a recognized problem which was uncovered in the first few generations of humanoid bots and not entirely solved to anyone's satisfaction. Then there is the difficulty of adjusting to the behavioral expectations of a female frame; observant people can still tell that it's a man in control of the body because she "talks and walks like a man."

Given the name "Cammy", Camden is still desperate to escape and attempt to recover some of his former life. But the leash of Slave Mode is an inexorable one, and who knows how much longer he can hold out before his new life utterly breaks him and renders him a compliant, scared sex slave forever?
