Emaki is a tengu who lives in the mountains. She is currently the false deity of a shrine halfway up the mountain. The first deity of her shrine vanished after it had stopped being worshipped by the mountain people, so after the people rediscovered the shrine again, Emaki used this opportunity to establish herself as the deity. However, Emaki has to be careful to evade the notice of the deity who lives on top of the mountain, who has been in slumber after leaving the mountain in the care of the first deity. Luckily for Emaki, this deity's worshippers consist of nothing more than monks, so communication between her subjects and the subjects of the mountain deity are unlikely.
Emaki's stature is small, only six inches tall, and she sports wings and traditional tengu attire from the region whence she came. She can fly for long periods of time, but her flying skills have become less honed as she lives pampered by the people of the mountain. She is able to do wind magic, and she is also quite light on her feet. Her primary method of attack is using her magic to fire traditional arrows with deadlier trajectories than a crossbow.
The mountain on which she lives overshadows the woods in which
Ruya_Yumi and
Orel dwell. She is currently enemies with the tribes of foxes such as Ruya's who meddle with her shrine donations, and she is trying to put an end to Orel's sketchy potion business in an attempt to solidify herself as a protective deity. However, she takes very little action personally, which alienates some of her follows.
Emaki is selfish but cunning, but often ends up putting herself in bad situations. She is actually able to regenerate because of the worshippers providing her with faith energy, but she could be rendered asunder from that energy provided her predator is adept enough at magic to prevent her from respawning.
