Background:

Fergus was born on a deathworld classified as HPEH (habit planetoid environmental hostility) level 1 planet. A planet that was heavily jungled planet with few Bronze Age-like human nomadic tribes. The the environment experienced constant extremes of rising floods, yearly earthquakes and volcanoes, and extreme cold and heat that would turn whole continents to barren, arid deserts or stretching wastelands of towering icicles made of trees. Much of the flora and fauna itself being aggressive in the constant survival upon the planet.

It was a common occurrence that many species and tribes went extent, the surviving humans being forced to harden into individuals of great pragmatism, resilience, caution, and paranoia as well as expressing potential metahuman traits as they evolved. Fergus himself being among the group of humans called “deadmeats”, lone or small group of individuals who were exiled, abandoned, or lone survivors of their tribes. Naturally, this planet became an ideal recruiting ground for the AWF (Andromeda-Way Federation) Regen/Lazarus Project for potential candidates for exploration, rescue and scouting efforts.

Fergus would cross the path of a patrolling Federation ship while on the verge of death from a near fatal encounter with the local wildlife. Taken from his world and brought to the The Project headquarters, Fergus was given medical treatments. After his recuperation, Fergus was offered a deal from director of the Lazarus Project at the time, Rachell Wells. She offered a comfortable life far from his world in-exchange for being the first of a new breed of L-candidate that could control flora based off his species’ unique biology from the rest of humanity. Fergus would accept, on the condition that his fellow humans on the planet were offered. The two agreed, and so Fergus would become the first of biologically and chemically altered candidates with control over plant matter and ability to alter into plant-like creatures.

Would work in many fields of military, search and rescue, and exploration. Though he found himself with a dark reputation of being a persistent hunter with a cruel nature that was only held back by his close mentor, Aoife Kelly, who’s unit, the Federate Bulwarkers, were renown for restraining their allies’ ferocity and aiding as first responders. In contrast he would get into the rivalries with other candidates due to his competitive nature and disagreements over procedures.

As the years of the AWF’s Golden Age - a period in which the Federation’s safety and prosperity was at its zenith - came to close, a slow but horrifying decay spread in the Federation set in for centuries. The long and resurrecting lives of the denizens, from the highest to the lowest, started to rot away at them (along with many other factors), without death like those of mortals, death became a rather trivial thing to the citizens of the Federation. A common example was if someone was struck by a vehicle, then the person who was struck would pay for the damage as they could be brought back to life with injuries fully healed. This, along with the ever-increasing woes of wars, inequalities and raising civil strife for mortal and immortals alike spiral down towards an explosive downfall of the AWF.

Eventually a Civil War broke out and tore the Federation apart. On the breakout of the Wars, Fergus faced a dilemma: which side to take as many factions began to target innocent people of the galaxies. The Florian made his decisions: he would side with the innocents and those deserving of second chances. He would save them matter what, even if it meant much to his sorrow fighting and killing his own fellow Florians.

He worked closely with his friends, Aoife and Nyota, in assisting the Bulwarkers and the Zan’s in evicting denizens of the Federation and attacking dangerous rival factions to save POWs and civvies. During this he encountered Kios who was plotting the death of Rachell Wells for her part in the Project. With a debt owed to the researcher for granting a better life for him and his people, Fergus subdued but spared Kios who he sympathised with yet also criticised her before parting ways with her.

After the fall of the Project’s Headquarters and the Federation, Fergus presumed most of his friends who participated in the Civil Wars had perished. With nowhere left to go in the ruined galaxies, he ventured out for parts unknown along with the refugees.

His travels taking him far and wide.
