THE LAZARUS CANDIDATES' CHARACTERISTICS:

Nature of origins

Though not solely a trait limited to the Lazarus Candidates, their point of origins/birth are listed as several classifications.

The main classifications often recorded are: natural born, mutantation, and artificial. The first of these is as the name suggests natural born individuals that are not created through artificial means. The second is for births that have been affected by uncontrollable elements and factors such as chemicals, magical and nanotech that result in a metahuman, be it natural or artificial birth. The third is artificial creations/births such as cloning, wombtanks and etc.

Power Markings and fuctions

A great many of the Regen/Lazarus candidates have a series of almost tattoo-like body markings pattern that reside on the Lazarus candidate's body. These grow in greater size and the elaborateness of design as the candidates consume or erase foes from existence.

Their purpose is to indict the candidate's power usage and storage before it is burnt out. This is done through the markings (and/or other body parts such as the spine or eyes) glowing brightly when the Lazarus' powers are in use, and dimming with each use of the Lazarus' powers until it is all but gone.

It has been observed and recorded that the Regen/Lazarus candidates' power/essence useage fuctions much like a battery, where it can be recharged through feeding off other living things or food's residual essence or a natural regeneration of it. However, there is also a discharging of the essence over time and reduced amount of power effectiveness and capacity after a unknown period of time. In the records it was noted that the candidates needed a special process to prevent gradually wear out, though it is unknown what exactly the process entitled due to being the data lost or withheld about it.

There is also another process but it is considered far more dangerous in that it involves entirely devouring a soul/essence of another being, the most effective being supernatural and very powerful beings or others of their own kind. This can result in severe mental alterations, even into a feral state.

Longevity

Regen/Lazarus candidates are technically biologically immortal as their bodies have been modified through advanced technological, biological, and/or magical means. This was to ensure that the AWF would always have an experienced expertises and forces that could remain in the field for long periods of time.

Regen/Lazarus candidates supposedly do not physically age on the surface and remain the appearance on the day that they were turned into a Lazarus candidate. Only unique, unusual and powerful means leave permanent marks on them through resurrections.

There is however records show signs of inner wear and tear along with a sort of aging process. The AWF records noted how the candidates power capacity wear down along with the mem-recov implants and efficiency of resurrection, often resulting in permanent deaths, mental degredation such as being more prone to frenzies or less effectiveness over time. Though to what severity and the rate of such a process varies case by case as well as the current cycle of the individual.

Mem-recov
Mem-recovs are classified by AWF records to be specialised bio-organic cybernetic brain implants that stores and collects the memories, essence and other unique factors of the implantee.

However, the appearance the mem-recovs to the common observer or ordinary doctor is considered to look like a horrifying mass of root-like unknown systems that grow from the brain stem into every part of the brain and the spinal cord.

As soon as the individual dies, their memories can be transferred over to a nearby mem-recover or being able to receive the stored memories and essence. It also by some unknown means manages to keep the data it stores for the individual's next resurrection upon death so as in theory the said individual does not lose any memories.

These implants, however, have been recorded to malfunction, suffer wear and tear, and become even damaged or destoryed beyond enchanced healing. A results of which have been: amnesia, PTSD, depression, sociopathic tendencies and a various other mental disorders. Despite these dangers, the AWF and the project had modified the implants in ways that they seem almost in-seperatable. These implants will stay with the Lazarus candidates, even in death and regeneration. Though as some leftover records have shown, in practice they can be safely removed or repaired by various means though the ease and success varies case by case and means.

Reproduction

Officially on records, the Lazarus candidates are considered sterile and unable to reproduced and potentially unable to have any sexual gratification from sexual recreation.

Unofficially, it is unknown how many Lazarus are truly sterile. Many recovered classified and unclassified records and interviews have revealed a high significent number of Lazarus Candidate can feel sexual gratification, and rarer numbers potentially reproducing. Some Lazarus candidates may have passed through the procedures unaltered in those biological fuctions, conducted or been coercied into it with black market surgeries and modifications.

Attitudes towards Pets and Slavery

Lazarus candidates usually regard slavery very negatively, but some are quite willing to inflict the same humiliation and pain on others inspite of personal experiences with such matters.

They will almost always try to find ways to ensure that their partnership or deal with someone is a win-win, or a win in their favour as they're very resistant to the idea of re-entering servitude again.

They generally prefer the terms "indentured servant" or "servant" if serving someone. A person who has not earned, gotten their consent, or proven powerfully to call them a "pet" or "slave" can potentionally result in an immediate area's destruction and loss of life from the Lazarus Candidate's wrathful rampage.
