Fukui Hoshiko, or "Fortunate Star Child", and unlike her oldest sister, that name may actually ring true. The youngest of the three Fukui sisters, Hoshiko is easily the most outgoing of the group. At the tender age of 11, this eager pre-teen has already been training to hunt demons for most of her life - and, despite the age difference - is far more successful than her sister. Tsukiko, anyway. Compared to the prodigy that is her closest sister in age, Haruka, the littlest Fukui is somewhat overshadowed. Haruka actually suspects that Hoshiko is the most talented, as she alone knows that she's just been graced with fortune worthy of her name; however, to Hoshi and the rest of her clan, Haruka truly is the Sun, and she is adored for it. The petite ninja can hardly be quiet about her beloved sister, in fact, always bragging to her friends, family - even to her enemies about how cool Haruka Onee-sama is! The reason she brags to her enemies is likely because, unlike her older siblings (and the rest of the clan), she doesn't really hate demons. She treats the profession more like a game. Mean demons are robbers, and she's the cop - so to speak. "Kind" demons are actually friends to her, until an older squad member steps in to dispatch the target. While this behaviour seems alarming, it is actually quite common for young clan members. The hate usually sets in after a few bad encounters, but Hoshiko's attitude keeps her in high spirits in spite of this. Should this behaviour keep up, the young daughter will likely have a closer watch kept on her and be "trained" to hate demons, but for now, at her age, she's never sent on a mission without an experienced squad leader - meaning she actually makes fairly good bait. Despite this positive, friendly demeanour, there seems to be one topic that will always put the energetic brat into a foul mood: Tsukiko.
Tsukiko Nee-san, as Haruka insists that she call her, is the biggest blight on little Hoshiko's life. She resents her absent oldest sister more than the heartless, soulless demons she kills. The primary reason for her loathing is the rumours: "Tsukiko is a hypocrite, she's a demon too, you know?", "Tsukiko is the worst operative the clan has ever known! Hey, did you hear? Last mission her team was crawling through a shaft to escape a botched objective, and her fat ass got wedged while Kirino was still behind her! Kirino didn't make it!" And, of course - "Hey, hey! Fat-ass Fukui just up and left the village! I heard she's gone off to join some demon's harem and make an army of weak skanks - just like her!" Hoshiko, being young, naive, and without fond memories of growing up with Tsuki, believes every one of these whole-heartedly. She believes her sister ditched, when she was banished, and it doesn't help that the timid Haruka doesn't defend her loved sibling, in fear of ridicule and reprimand. While Hoshiko is typically sent on missions with a group, when she found out that her sister was going out to find Tsukiko, she covertly followed after her - lying to her parents, and getting a clan member to cover for her while she snuck to a far off land.
Equipment
Hoshiko, like her sisters, has incredibly light armament. Spandex. A body suit - curiously sleeveless, like her oldest sister, and not like Haruka. She is however decked out in more knives than one can count. These demon repelling blades adorn her body all across her waist belt, along two bands - one for each thigh. Her large, melee daggers are hoisted on her back: one on the strap crossed diagonally from her shoulder to just below her breast, and the other horizontally, on the strap just above her belt. She uses these with impressive finesse (for an eleven year old), and could probably take either of her sisters in close combat. She's quick, sneaky, and has a fairly good grasp on demon-hunting tactics. Unfortunately for Hoshiko, She has a weakness. Several, actually. Her primary one being her strength, which is not much stronger than a typical girl her age, as well as her earlier mentioned naivety: how she treats life-threatening situations like a game. As a ninja, her biggest flaw is her inability (or more realistically, her lack of interest) in utilizing ranged weapons and accessories. She finds these items boring, frustrating or "cheap", preferring to rely on her blades (which she's replaced all her knick knack's with) as well as her stealth. If she gets caught, she's mentioned in the past - "I'll accept the consequences!"
Hoshiko has never been caught, and hopefully she never will; lest she learn the truth behind the creatures she's been making friends with.
