"Oh please, leave off the pompous titles. Just call me Jackie!"

The curious, precocious, vibrant, and lively daughter of Queen Miria Ilraven, Jacqueline immediately contrasts against the stately glamour and untouchable majesty of her mother with her friendly and familiar demeanor. Jackie, as she prefers to be known amongst friends, is a girl who would much rather get along with everyone. Often the voice of peace in her fractious family, Jackie has been designated as Miria's successor when the queen is ready to abdicate her throne. Until then, however, the young princess is ready to live her life to the fullest!

At six feet and two inches, Jackie is very tall for a teenage girl just blooming into adulthood at eighteen. She has a slender, graceful figure from lifelong lessons in dance and deportment, accentuated by liquid maroon eyes and her waist-length lavender hair. Jackie is clever with her hands, a highly skilled player of piano and harp and an accomplished puppeteer. A seductress she isn't, however; while surprisingly non-naive for a girl raised in the opulent luxury of Undrossen castle, Jackie still maintains a youthful innocence that believes in the good of people. Every stranger she meets is a chance to make a new friend. Even for an intelligent and gifted woman it takes a great deal of rigorous education to produce a queen capable of ruling the vast Ilraven Empire, so Jackie is still deeply involved in her training.

As a sorceress, Jackie is heir to the grand legacy of the Ilraven Empire and empowered by its vast reservoirs of might (some dark whispers suggest much of its magic is distilled from the doomed gods eternally digesting in Miria's stomach). This makes her a powerful spellcaster, although still undisciplined and rather inclined to raw shamanism instead of the finesse of higher magic developed by long experience and rigorous training. Jackie is also an adept horserider and pilot able to handle most domesticated mounts, and she enjoys the outdoors. Self-described as a lover, not a fighter, she has no skill at arms in spite of constant prodding by her brother to learn how to fence. A keen eye for fashion and beauty completes our description of the princess.

Jacqueline's family dynamics are complicated by the burdens of rule. Her mother, Queen Miria, is the steely family matriarch and responsible for administering the vast empire. Centuries of rule have worn down the queen and Jackie isn't blind to the demands that rulership has taken on Miria. She's keenly aware that her mother feels she did not entirely succeed with her first two children; as a consequence, Miria took a larger role in Jacqueline's life than she did with her other two. Jackie enjoys a closer relationship with Miria than her siblings as a consequence of this and she secretly dreads the day when she might be asked to assume Miria's position as Queen of the Empire. Temperamentally the two are quite different as well; while Miria is a realpolitik blend of iron-fisted ruler and soft, persuasive speaker, Jackie is much more inclined towards peace and diplomacy. (For one, Jackie intends to disband Miria's feared Digestecutioner Corps upon her ascension.)

Jackie's older sister Rae was Miria's first daughter and the strongest willed of the three children. Beautiful, unyielding, romantic, idealistic, and determined, Rae was carefully groomed by Miria to rule but eventually ended up rebelling against her mother on principle, unable to stand waiting for the cruel atrocities of the Ilraven Empire to end. While the sisters bear no personal animosity to each other (indeed Jackie treasures the few occasions she's able to see Rae), Jackie still fears that becoming queen will put her in opposition to Rae. She's also seen the estrangement between Rae and Miria, a burden that weighs more heavily on her mother's heart than any other.

Her older brother Beauregard was Miria's second child; Jackie considers him the most intelligent and observant of the three children, with a keen mind for strategy and a deep understanding of humanity. Beau's relationship with Jackie is warm and congenial, but as general of Miria's armies he's also embroiled in constant conflict with Rae, leading to a rather acrimonious relation between older brother and older sister. This leaves Jacqueline to be the peacemaker and mediator between the two of them on the rare occasion when the entire family is present. Jackie also feels that Beau would be a better ruler of the empire than she, but Beau has no interest in politics; his home and only love is the battlefield.

"Family ... can't live with them, can't live without them."

In spite of all their fights and faults, Jackie still dearly loves her family. She's also at the age where she has developed curiosity about and interest in romance, much to the collective dismay of the rest of the family. For the future queen, the prospect of becoming ruler of the Empire is still a distant, future event unrelated to the reality of the present. So why not enjoy life while she can?



Jacqueline can be played in a variety of settings, which is why her setting is not described in detail. Her native setting is the Ilraven's Empire's floating palace of Undrossen, but she can also be attending an academy of magic as a boarding student, traveling incognito to see the land, just shopping at the mall with her friends, or even moved through time into the modern world. She can also fit in other settings; don't be shy to ask!
