The Novae family has a very long history. In a fantasy lands where humans were expanding their domination, magical creatures were in need for protection. One day, a royal bloodline decided that they could not stand this massacre and formed a pact with a mighty dragon. They begged for power in order to protect the magical creatures of the land, a wish that the dragon granted in exchange for their humanity. The mythical creature blessed their bloodlines, giving them the power to protect other with dragon-like magic and strenght. Using this power, the Novae family created a spell around the town they ruled over making anyone that lived here protected from the human's slaughter. Their city grew, filled with various magical creatures of every kinds, fairies, centaurs, were-creatures or kobolds became regular citizens under their rule. The spell were protecting citizens, bringing them back everytime an accident occured, however natural death was still a thing of everyone's life. And so went on the story of Dragonrest, the city of monsters. The Novae family now had to deal with the life of ruling over monsters. Of course, the spell was protecting anyone from dying, and especially from being devoured. With creatured like werewolves roaming the streets, and the delicious kobolds that everyone crosses everyday it became clear that devouring eachother was a new way of life in town. Hopefully no harm could happen as long as this occured under the city's protection. The life was good, but the humans conquerors wanted to take over the city in order to steal this blessing for their own. But the city's blessing was a spell more complicated than the humans throught, and everyone with evil intents that was devoured or killed inside of the city would not be revived like everyone, making the humans unable to invade it. The only way would be to totally break the protection and there was one way to do so: getting rid of the Novae family. In order to do so, they pretended to offer peace and offered the Novae to join them in order to sign the end of the war between humans and magical creatures. Wanting to believe in it, the Novae came and got slaughtered by an evil trap and due to their death happening outside of the city's protection they were killed for good... but at the human's surprise the protection didn't disappeared. The Novae had a daughter that was still alive, proving that every children the family would have would reinforce the protection. The humans had failed, but now the young Jenovah was alone, raised by the maids of her mansion. And so Jenovah grew up without her parents. However the peoples of the city were still considering her to be their savior. The city even saved her a few times kidnappers that tried to take her away from town, and by so she began to be kept safe in her mansion. Safe, but alone. Over the years, the girl became bored. She wanted to experience new things, and often asking a lot to her maids as they were the only ones allowed near her during a very long time. Now older and bored she kept the habits to stay safe in her city. However she wanted to experiment more, and so now she hope to try out anything new... and make friends, since her protection had prevented her from making real friends over the years. |
