Jermod

You’ll pay for disturbing my slumber! …After my nap…

An Overlord ranked Exalted Raetsu that has been well known among demonkind as a ‘misfit’ demon and a rather poor ruler in terms of being an Overlord. While ridiculed by most demons who think of his name, the fact still remains that Jermod isn’t what he seems on the surface. Sure, he’s lazy and rather easy-going, but what lies beneath this non-threatening, and moderately fluffy, exterior is something that many wouldn’t believe. So, what is it with this demon bunny that’s so shocking? To find out, one must go back into the distant past, thousands of years before Jermod was ever conceived and brought forth into this world. Back then, the Circle knew the name of a different ruler; Jelani. Long before Jermod was ever born into existence, Jelani ruled over the very same Circle in which Jermod would come to inherit after him. However, unlike his coming successor, Jelani was a far more capable ruler and held power that no other Exalted Raetsu could ever hope to command. Considered the strongest among Overlord ranked demons, Jelani quickly became the most sought after demon ruler for up and coming demons to fight for a chance to inherit his power for themselves and his position as Overlord. However, none would ever succeed and, as thousands of years passed, Jelani would ascend higher among the demonic hierarchy, becoming an Ashura and conquering many Circles in his name. As demons bowed and sang his infernal praise across the hellish cosmos, none knew the dark secret to the “Dark Lord Lepus”.

Indeed, beyond what many knew, this secret would tell that, startlingly enough, Jelani’s immense raw power was not his own but, that of a demonic abomination known only as “Rth’alzsi”, the Hell Nebula from Beyond. Before Jelani had became the Overlord and even before he ascended to become an Exalted Raetsu, he was a simple lapine demon seeking change against the current Overlord who ruled everything with an iron fist and subjected demons to fear like no other. Jelani, however, held one plan that could not only end the Overlord’s reign but, give him the power he felt he deserved to make a change that would shake the Jigokusekai down to its knees. Using a forbidden tome to call forth the Jigokugami, Rth’alzsi, Jelani formed a binding pact with the hellish abomination. Through this ritual, Jelani was blessed with the terrible powers from which only a Jigokugami would have…but, at the hidden price of losing himself to Rth’alzsi’s essence every century he held her eldritch powers within him. Having assumed the role of Jelani’s advisor and second in command, Rth’alzsi would merely sit back and watch as Jelani gave in to his thirst for power and would only ensure that he would lose himself to the very gift that was eating away at his entire being every one hundred years. Exactly one thousand years later, Jelani had reached the pinnacle of his reign and had become an Emperor of Hell, his ruling might extending over many Circles in the Jigokusekai. Now that his seat was secured as one of the strongest demons in the Jigokusekai, Jelani would finally make the move he had been waiting for on his most trusted advisor.

Confessing a love that had blossomed during his long years of conquest, Jelani sought to make Rth’alzsi his, where the both of them would rule over these circles together side by side. Much to his delight, Rth’alzsi would agree to his trival confession for love but, at his own expense. Unaware of the ticking time bomb that was set to go off at any day, .But, not long after the two had became one, the lapine Ashura fell prey to the power he had used to forge his path in the Jigokusekai. Without ever revealing her true motives nor her true form to Jelani, Rth’alzsi allowed his power to consume him and promptly absorbed his hideous remains within herself.

So then…what does all of this have to do with Jermod? Well…everything, really.

You see, Jelani going beyond second base with Rth’alzsi had actually succeeded in creating life within the abomination. Indeed, she had been impregnated by him just before he was consumed. Intrigued by this …wonder of biology that had occurred within her extension, Rth’alzsi would carry the child full term and from this, Jermod would be born. Realizing that the lapine child had inherited both her own essence as well as the power of his late father, Rth’alzsi sought to groom the infant into an unstoppable Jigokugami. With this in mind, Rth’alzsi gave the newborn Jermod to her three servants, Sthothmagog, Itsha, and Zshutuas, and gave them the order to care for the child and ensure that he grows to become an abomination made in her image. Directing them to the old domain from which Jelani once ruled, the three Euclidean ‘maids’ assumed their roles as Jermod’s caretakers and looked after the lapine demon child as he grew up into who he was today…

Jermod had inherited much of his father’s personality, holding a laid back and generally…a more ’human’ mindset than most demons. Jermod lacked his father’s drive, however, his native vice of Sloth hampering him into laziness even if his strengths and eldritch powers grow stronger the more he slumbers. As it stands, Jermod holds no real memory of his father for obvious reasons, however, his mother seemed to be someone he remembers, but only in the form in which she had taken to conceal her eldritch visage from his late father. What little he’s seen of his mother is what he’s imprinted on and, as such, it can be assumed that Jermod has no idea that his mother is a boundless eldritch being residing somewhere in the infernal cosmos. Jermod was sheltered tremendously throughout his infancy and into his early childhood, his mother and her servants using those years to give his eldritch powers to cement and fully take hold within his being as well as waiting out the chaos and turmoil that had arisen after Jelani’s untimely and abrupt death. While deemed essential to Jermod’s growth, the sheltered environment only appeared to stunt the lapine child’s sense of independency and created an even more slothful personality within him.

Jermod can easily be described as “hedonistic” in nature and philosophy, the bunny preferring to live in slumber and pleasure rather than exert himself and expose himself to the outside world. For this reason, many are willing to believe that these ideals are what may lead to Jermod acquiring vast amounts of Devil Mana in a natural sense, his Sloth and Lust vices keying in heavily with his hedonistic nature. Jermod can be snarky and sarcastic when he wants to be, and known to get increasingly grouchy if he is ever disturbed during his nap time or indulging in video games that he’s imported from the human world. While being docile and good-natured most of the time, the bunny overlord is not without his instances of evil and villainy, Jermod having more than one run in with his inner dark side that pushed him to become the role of a villain in more than one case. Inherited from his father is his native, lapine lusts that can grow out of control if stimulated correctly. His less than outgoing personality has often ensured that these lustful desires would remain repressed, though the bunny has found many opportunities to satisfy them throughout his present day rule.

Statistics

Eldritch Physiology: Naturally, Jermod holds a biology that us not of this normal plane. Thanks to his genetics from his mother, Jermod gained a physiology that mimics that of any normal eldritch abomination that exists in the vast cosmos. While normally being brought out in the form of myriad of tendrils that Jermod can extend from his body at will, his eldritch traits go far beyond that of simple Tentacle manifestation. Jermod’s own native Devil Mana is far more potent and corruptive than that of normal demons. As such, the Devil Mana Jermod commands can corrupt and mutate even other demons and transform them into something else entirely. Beyond this is Jermod’s ‘Euclidean Blood’ which is but a mutation of his normal demonic blood having become tainted by his eldritch genetic traits shortly after birth. This grants Jermod a highly resilient and regenerative constitution, making him far less susceptible to injury and allowing him to replicate any area of his biology by manipulating this blackened blood of his. There are many different applications and associations tied within this trait, however, since Jermod is still but a ‘teenage’ eldritch horror, his body will need to ‘mature’ more before he can unlock them all and use them accordingly. These qualities appear to also be hereditary and will be passed on to most offspring that Jermod produces, however the extent of how lovecraftian his children will be are up to chance as well as the mother’s own hereditary traits.

Vices ~ Sloth - Lust: As a demon, Jermod holds at least one native ‘sin’ that he embodies and also works to describe both his nature as a demon as well as determine how he will garner his strength in Devil Mana. The native vices Jermod holds are Sloth and Lust, in this respect, Jermod’s natural aura seems to be Sloth dominant, while Lust only appears to manifest within his persona and not his abilities in Devil Mana manipulation. Because of his Sloth vice, Jermod is able to garner more demonic power the more he sleeps and is also able to invite others around him into slothful behavior by allowing his latent demonic aura to ‘taint’ them. His Lust vice, as mentioned before, only appears to surface in terms of his personality, however, traces of it will appear if those around him are subjected to his corruption.

Mana Style ~ Void Cancel: An unusual Mana Style that derives power directly from his Mana Affinity for ‘Astro Mana’ or the mana elemental pertaining to space and the cosmos. A rare affinity in and of itself, this Mana Style manifests as the ability to manipulate the very fabric of space itself, creating dimensional rifts and even having the ability to construct entire dimensions. The ability works in ‘stages’, the first stage consisting of effectively, ‘canceling’ an area of space, which then leads to rift creation if Jermod is able to connect Astro Mana from his created rift in space to another area. At which point, a pathway is formed and a portal is then created from which Jermod can travel to and from with ease. Without this connection, Void Cancel will essentially ‘erase’ space. With this power, Jermod can link dimensions, imbue objects with spatial energy and grant them dimensional rending abilities Dimensional creation is a far more advanced application of this Mana Style, but can be possible with vast amounts of time and energy which involves creating a sphere of compressed Astro Mana and ‘erasing’ it. The resulting erasure does not cancel the sphere but, instead causes it to expand beyond the plane of space from which it was erased from. Jermod is also able to ‘enchant’ various objects with spatial properties which can grant them extra-dimensional capabilities. His hoodie, for instance, is enhanced with these powers and thus is bestowed with pockets that are ‘deep’ and can hold far more within them.

Mana Style ~ Quantum Shocker: A secondary Mana Style that centers itself around Jermod’s second Mana Affinity of Electro Mana. While this style appears to derive mostly from elecro mana, there are still traces of Astro Mana lining the electricity that is used when Jermod uses this Mana Style. In a nutshell, Quantum Shocker is lightning that is imbued with traits of both stars and spatial properties, as such the lightning Jermod produces may hold dimensional warping traits if the amount charged up is powerful enough. While not being on the length of Void Cancel, Quantum Shocker is capable of distorting physical and meta-physical planes at full power but, can only do so when Jermod achieves full charge. To get a decent charge, Jermod needs to absorb either electro energy or convert outside energy into electo mana via mana manipulation.

Immortality (Quick Reincarnation): Jermod himself is an incredibly resilient demon, much of this being thanks to his latent physiology as a Raetsu class demon, however, his eldritch qualities also push his bodily resilience and regenerative properties to shocking heights. Even so, Jermod is still capable of being killed if enough magical force is applied to him so that his body is unable to regenerate. However, while not immortal on his own, Jermod’s very soul was modified by Rth’alzsi so that, if he dies, the seal on his soul will activate and warp him back to his abode where his merges with the womb of one of his servants and he re-grows back into adulthood to continue where he left off. However, the actually point of birth is usually infancy and Jermod swiftly re-grows back into adulthood from there, but his servants appear to withhold him for extended periods of time since their eldritch qualities mingle with his in-utero and further push him closer to becoming a powerful abomination. Jermod’s memories remain intact up until the point on where he died. In this sense, Jermod will have had no idea that he had died. It usually takes up to a week for Jermod to fully mature back into an adult, but there have been times where it has taken longer. The time it takes to fully mature again, normally depends on how much damage his body had sustained after he died, since this means his body will take longer or less time rebuilding itself on it’s own without his host mother’s help. It should be noted that The servants of Rth’alzsi that live within Jermod’s abode are not the only ones who can carry Jermod’s soul upon his death, in fact, any female that has taken up residence in his home is a potential target, but the circumstances that causes them to be targeted are usually coincidental at best.
