Knightwalker once was a powerful, capable fighter, former royal army captain and feared spear user coming from the alternative dimension "Edolas". Many had fallen before her, and she was not only deadly and strong, but also quite a beauty. But then, something happened.

Erza_Knightwalker had found her match in form of
Lelith_Hesperax. Normally, that should have been her end. But Lelith had other plans. Her cute, deranged lover
Yuno_GC lacked a really powerful weapon that she could use to defeat her enemies, and be a truly viable ally for Lelith in a life-or-death kind of fight against someone. Besides that, Lelith felt like conserving the memory about that competent, strong fighter she defeated. Instead of killing and vanquishing both body and soul, Lelith transformed the body into a monument (not before taking the cleanly severed head as trophy), and kept the soul and essence around. Later, she asked
Maximilian to mold and forge it into a weapon of the finest quality and category. Knightwalker was reborn, as an instrument of bloodshed and warfare - and she even was happy about the chance to spill someone's blood and defeat more enemies, basking in her victory and relishing the sensations of power and superiority. Lelith gifted the blade to Yuno, after getting the girl to move in with her, and the pink-haired gal choose to name her new sword "Crimson Knight", the former part hinting at the hair color but also the blood that would be spilled, while the later part reminded of Erza's last name.
Her new "body" was that of a masterfully constructed and wonderfully balanced katana, the weapon many consider to be the perfect sword. Hidden in a red scabbard with a golden dragon logo, Erza is a long, one-handed curved blade with one sharp side. The material is shiny and rather light in color, almost whitish, with a darker edge on the sharp end that shows a wave form between the darker and lighter part. The guard is a golden piece while the hilt has red material over the normal sword part, in the same color as the scabbard. Even a normal katana (if forged correctly) is a fearsome weapon, yielded by capable swordfighters it can cut through almost any material, slicing through bones as if they are out of balsa wood. But this blade isn't normal.
Maximilian gave it further abilities to enhance it and empower the wielder. Instead of regular steel, Knightwalker is made out of a high-end nano material, the cutting edge of the blade being monemolecular. The result is something that can even cut through metal with little to no resistance, or inflict so precise and miniature wounds to someone that Erza can cut without causing bleeding. Of course, it can just go through flesh and leave grave, serious wounds too. On the other hand, the material is also highly durable and no normal weapon has any chance of breaking the katana, not even leaving a dent in it, the blade being eternally sharp and immaculate. To fuel it's power plus nourish and satisfy Erza, it can "drink" the blood of opponents, sucking it up and absorbing the juicy life essence fully without any trace left. That effect is not limited to blood, given the chance and enough time, Erza can consume someone so utterly and suck them dry of life and vitality that even someone's soul can be absorbed into her form.
Despite being a sword, Knightwalker still has full sensory input. She can see, hear, smell and feel her surroundings, taste someone if she cuts and sucks blood, she has all her memories and her mind is fully intact, capable of rational, logical thinking. Erza's personality is more or less the same, while she isn't able to do some interactions anymore, she nevertheless still sees herself as a proud, formidable warrior (or rather, weapon in her new state). She is uppish, vicious, sadistic and rather cruel, without any mercy or sympathy for her victims and even finding delight in someone's suffering. Unusual for her, Erza feels respect, devotion and even a notch obedience towards Lelith, the one who outmatched her but still granted her a new life and treated her with dignity, not spoiling her body. Erza feels thankful to Maximilian, who 'created' and forged her, and the one she had most doubts about was the one supposed to use her, Yuno. But one ability came in handy and eliminated all hesitations.
To some degree, the katana is able to read the feelings and thoughts of someone holding it, if Erza concentrates on that. She did it with both Max and Lelith, sensing their powers and characteristics, but the one almost overwelming her with violent, strong, intermingling and contradicting emotions was Yuno. The mixture of madness, love, fear, violence, frenzy, anger and craziness was assaulting her senses, but when Knightwalker settled down, she was happy. The important part for her was that Yuno absolutely, relentlessly, without any remorse or sympathy was going to kill her enemies while having the time of her life doing it. Erza's main concern was that she might be used by a weak-willed, hesitant "softy", and thankfully, Yuno was totally the opposite of that. Knightwalker can also communicate telepathically, although the wielder (or anyone touching the hilt, essentially) has to be skilled in that - and Yuno, for instance, is not.
The girl feels that there is something special about the katana, but she doesn't fully realize it is a sentient entity capable of thinking just like herself. Knightwalker is fine just with savoring the blood of Yuno's and Lelith's enemies, though, and as she is able to talk with the dark eldar or her creator now and then, she is not unhappy or lonely. If she gets enough power by consuming blood (and possibly souls), there will also be a chance Knightwalker might temporarily manifest her former, human body and appearance (at least in Maximilian's hotel of sorts), but she can't do that so far. The more enemies Yuno would kill with the assistance of her katana (perma scenes), the more power she would get herself. At random, the girl will get gifted with some bonus and new ability, be it offensive, defensive or some utility, or her swordsmanship improving. By feeding blod to the katana, she can also temporarily power up a bit.
