Marilyn V. Aquaria is the princess of an underwater Elentian region known as Aquaria, and she's the daughter of Queen Reffinda "Reffy" Aquaria. Mari is still pretty young, and despite having an older sister, the fact that Mari is half Elentian and a mermaid just like her mother instead of being a half bunny half Lamia like her sister makes her the crown princess. Additionally, Mari is still fairly new to spellcasting, so some of her spells may not work as well as intended.

Mari's Lore

Mari V. Aquaria, princess of the underwater kingdom of Aquaria and daughter to Queen Reffy Aquaria. For the first 5 or 6 years of her life, Mari lived as an orphaned human girl. Her parents had been eaten in the middle of the night by an unknown predator not long after her birth. She was taken to live in the village's orphanage where... well she was sort of bullied by some of the other kids, in all honesty. She wanted to learn how to use magic, but unfortunately... they refused her specifically because she was an orphan. Their reasoning was that, because she had nobody to teach her the basics or discipline beforehand, that she would not be able to pay attention and listen to the teachers to learn the magic. One night, she snuck into the magic school and was able to use a feather pen and a piece of paper to copy down some instructions for a few basic spells. From there, she retreated to the beach near the village. Once at the beach, Mari began practicing her magic, not knowing that there was a mermaid lounging on the beach nearby. This mermaid just so happened to be her future mother, Reffy. Reffy was woken by the noise that Mari was making, and came to see what was going on. After hearing Mari's story, she began to help her learn and master the spells she was practicing. Once Mari had mastered the spells, Reffy invited her to her palace under the waves, offering a place to stay away from all the humans who mistreated her. Mari accepted, despite knowing that Reffy was a mermaid, and was of a rather predatory species. She felt that she could trust her. That night, just before bed, Reffy made her one more offer. The offer to become a mermaid and live the rest of her life as her daughter, and be the princess of Aquaria. Mari accepted wholeheartedly, and Reffy slipped the young girl up into her womb for the night. The next morning, Mari came back out not as a human, but as a mermaid, bearing a striking resemblance to her mother while keeping a few traits from her human self.
