(IC)PERSONALITY: Matarael is inherently malevolent, flirtatious, and sadistic.
He does not genuinely love or regard others like they were people, instead viewing
them as materials to be taken and dismantled so he can create something useful...
which often means abominations and constructs possessed by the souls of those
he's melted.
He takes his craft incredibly seriously, often spending hours or days on a
single project (crime against god) and meticulously picking through host objects
to implant a soul in. This is probably the only time he'd give anyone genuine
care or tentativeness, examining and reprogramming someone's very subconscious
to better make them into a given monster or creature...which often turns out to be
a servant or walking appliance for the malevolent fuck.
Anyone he considers to be unsuitable for transormation, be it lacking a soul
or being generally useless, will be outright ignored unless they become a problem...
upon which he will just mock them and engage in some tomfoolery.

ORIGIN STORY: There are billions upon trillions of Milers, but there is only one
Matarael. When faced with the entity that took his identity countless times, he
was the only one to ever fight back and actually kill it; becoming infected by the
creature's blood and mutating rapidly as it warped his body and psyche.
He became manipulative, using his triumph over the entity to organize the assorted
Milers as their leader. He decieved them into thinking he would give them a family,
or perhaps even find their old ones, but he just used this as an unaccomplisheable
goal to keep the desperate masses under his influence.
He'd only placate them by creating 16 eldritch entities designed to serve them, using
these 'friends' as distractions to further decieve the Milers... unfortunately, during
one of his little excursions by himself, he actually DID find his original family...
His father, mother, brothers and sisters... he actually found them... and he felt nothing.
They barely had a chance recognize their former son and brother before he disposed of them
to keep the lie going that it was impossible, leaving the scene with no semblance of
regret or pity- that was until he felt thousands of eyes suddenly lock onto him across
the multiverse... he was being watched by his subordinates, and in an instant, they
all swarmed and beat the malevolent fuck into submission, overcome by rage as they
tried over and over to kill him... but he would always come back, possessing one of their
own. So instead, they decided to imprison him for thousands of years, and no matter
how many generations of Miler died since his time, none would dare release him
from his cage...
